I got a screen fitted by National Windscreens on my old iD.3, the fitting and calibration was fine, but it was a pattern part and when we had a really hot spell at the start of last summer the screen started to delamination.
It didn't have as much of a tint to it as the original screen either.

Re: 1 year and 14,000 miles.Some thoughts.
I do find the Born (3.0) system better than the iD.3 (2.3), although I think that's probably down to the layout and not needing to move between different screens. I don't particularly think it's to do with it being on the latest version, I think it just works better for me with more options immediat...

Re: 18" Continental tyre wear
I managed to get to just over 10k miles on Bridgestones, they did look to be getting low on the rear.
I changed all four for some Goodyear efficientgrip... that came with a free Cupra Born... expensive for tyres mind!

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
The HUD would have been nice, as would the heated seats and tinted windows, but it just keeps pushing the price up.
I'm happy with the upgrades over the iD.3 Life, just had to draw a line somewhere.

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Ooo, I forgot about the Tech pack L as well! Looking forward to the true keyless entry, don't think there's anything else in the pack I'm bothered about though!

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
V1 in vapor grey and typhoon 19" alloys.
Now I've got to take the animated wing mirror repeaters I fitted a couple of weeks ago off, so I can put them on the Born.

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
If you join a Cupra Born Facebook group you might find a dealer with a stock car that matches what you want. I'm on there and keep seeing them share with the group the stock they have. To be honest, it's a nightmare trying to contact dealers. They rarely get back to you, you call and leave them mes...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
I would take that V1 lead time comment from the dealer witha pinch of salt. To be honest, I take everything car sales men say with a pinch of salt, most of them have zero interest in cars, they just want to take as much money from you as possible and get their commission. (Speaking from experience,...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
so the supplying dealership are basically going to trouser the capital part of your next 5 months payments in guaranteeing your p/x? Doesn't sound like a great deal to me. 5 months of payments is about £750-800 tops in the capital repayment (my monthlies are very low). Hopefully the value of the px...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Got a call back and they can get a V1, but it's got the typhoon alloys on, at a cost of £705. I was tempted, but don't like the black and silver wheels with the grey car and copper accents! 🤯 If it had been the typhoon wheels with the copper accents or the standard V1 wheels I'd have been all over i...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Well, I swayed backwards and forwards about buying or not buying the Born last night, decided this morning to go for it, emailed and then rang the dealer first thing... looks like the white one isn't available 😡, so I've said I'd prefer a vapor grey, but would have white if he can get one. Haven't h...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
I am so glad I switched. So, can I ask, does your V2 have the heated steering wheel? And a reversing camera? Been thinking, and the extra 50hp was £1300 extra on the iD.3, and the 18" East derry alloys were £650, so there's the justification for the extra £2k to change right there! Plus there'...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
So both dealers told me the V1 doesn't come with a heated steering wheel, but the spec in the brochure says it does! Anyone confirm if it does, or doesn't?

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Got some thinking to do tonight... Went to see a V1 with L pack in vapor grey... sold this morning 🙁 They have a V1 with L pack in white that they can get hold of, but that's got the cost of extra paint on, which I'm not wanting to pay, but I do quite like the white. They got my iD.3 Life Pro, with ...

So are peoples experience of motorway that you tend to get the price, possibly a touch more?
Just been quoted £33,822 for my Life Pro, Sept 71 plate, with 9k miles.

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
so nothing to lose apart from £55 a month more! I'm off to have a look tomorrow, I've 'guesstimated' the figures at £12 more per month, with an extra £1100 on the GFV, but I won't be putting in £500 deposit like I did with my iD.3, so the man maths comes out at a difference in total payback of arou...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Saw my first born in the wild this weekend sat in the Silverstone park and ride car park. Drove past it on the bus and caught it out of the corner of my eye and had a look thinking it was an iD.3. Looked nice, in the fleeting glance I got. I'm supposed to be test driving one tomorrow night after wor...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Heated steering wheel is standard throughout the range. Heated seats is a V2 and above standard fit. Cheers, I think the heated wheel is the more important of the two for me, so that sounds okay. If the V1 had heated seats as well it would be perfect, however, rear view camera, alloys and that more...
