Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
I think the regulator for type approvals in the UK is the vehicle certification agency. enquiries@vca.gov.uk https://www.vehicle-certification-agency.gov.uk/ There is a complaints link. It may be worth seeing if they have published anything relevant on their website, for example they may publish gui...

Re: Delivery time
Weren't there quite a few Maxs ordered via lease, some back in summer but some not until November time, that were all given a build week around 46 and are all being delivered about now?I don't think AlbertLondon is unique, some of the leasing companies (maybe they are all part of the same umbrella g...

Re: Software 3.1
I see, So currently the screen does show things but only for apple, android are sold short :'( No - only if you have an Apple phone but use Google maps through Carplay. If you use Google maps through Android Auto then it all works as it should and you get directions in the driver's screen. If you u...

Re: Delivery time
Just called dealer to find that our car arrived with them today. I can see a pig flying over my house as I type this. They will be calling me tomorrow to arrange collection. It was, according to them a build week 10/11 so interested to see if it’s 22 or 22.5. I’ve not been keeping up with the threa...

Re: Software 3.1
So 2.4 is a workshop update ? Would your dealership then contact you to get this done, or is this an 'Optional update' thing that they end up charging for ? Also wondering if 2.4 has anything in it in the way of doing something with the screen behind the steering wheel as 33% of the screen on mine ...

Re: Software 3.1
There have been contradictory messages from VW about whether the dealer will contact you, whether you will need to contact the dealer, and how VW will communicate that the process is 'live'. Last time they used an email to people with registered weconnect ID accounts. If you didn't see the email, to...

Re: Software 3.1
I had the impression that the 3.0 rollout would start imminently once 2.4 is done. Of course that doesn't mean a huge amount because: (1) 2.4 hasn't started yet and it's bound to take several months to get through all the cars on the road I'd have thought?, (2) once the 3.0 rollout begins it could e...

Re: Delivery time
Anyone know if there's a way we can set up the We Connect app beforehand? I'm getting a "Something went wrong" error so I guess it's only possible when we have the car... I'm sure some people have. I tried to do it with the reg and with the vin as it implied in the app you could do that, ...

Re: Charging at 11kw/h AC
This doesn't make sense to me. Are you only getting half the charge rate because the battery is nearly fully charged? Nope. It’s because AC charging is limited to 11kw on the id3. It's almost universal - the only common cars that do 22kw are Zoes and some old Model Ss. There are quite a few cars th...

Re: Software 3.1
Battery Life has just put up a video of the new charging curve with software 3.0 and the 77kwh battery. Looks like a brilliant improvement if people with an ID3 Tour get the same - over 100kw all way to past 70%.

Re: Cost of insurance.
For what it's worth we were coming from a 1.6 petrol Astra (which we traded in) and a diesel VRS Octavia (still have); the ID3 is more expensive than either of them to insure. I was a bit surprised it was more than the Octavia but we are still only talking £400 for both of us on it. I think it's pro...

Re: Tyre inflating via 12v socket
Hi, I've just joined the forum for this exact issue! I had a puncture and needed a rescue service as when I sat in the car (with the wire running out the passanger window) the compressor worked - but as soon as I goto out of the driver seat it stopped! So the answer is plug in the seatbelt is that ...

Re: Carplay small buttons and text
It's the same in ours but Android Auto is much better. The problem is the Carplay interface (edit - or the way it is integrated in to the ID3). I find that I can hit the buttons pretty accurately when driving by placing my left hand fingers on the top of the screen and pressing the screen with my th...

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
One question, if you don't mind - what app do you use to allow you to choose specific chargers according to their brands as stated above? ABRP and Zapmap both allow you to filter on charger brands. Wattsup doesn't give you a filter for that but its standard map display makes it obvious what brand e...

Re: EV or PHEV short journeys
I've never heard of short journeys damaging the battery. If they did, that would be a problem for PHEVs too. On the contrary I think batteries work very well over short distances. Many ID3s suffered poor consumption on short journeys in winter because the car used lots of energy to get more heat th...

Just saw someone on Facebook with photos from a new Family Pro Perf arrived (I guess it might be someone on this thread.) The interior has the new seats but otherwise looks identical throughout to my MY22 Family. However it has the new side sensors, which I think is cool for a Family (he didn't say...

If so... don't worry too much about his comments on the charging infrastructure at the start of the video. He mentions alwa...
