Re: Ecotricity EV plus economy 7

Ecotricity have their own infrastructure to generate green electricity which they feed into the grid. Green electricity Ecotricity was the first energy company to offer its customers green electricity. We started with one windmill in Gloucestershire and have carried on building new wind and solar pa...

I feel a bit smug too. Zero emissions driving and overnight charging. Not even a quick trip to the petrol station required!

Re: Queuing at the petrol stations!

That’s Brexit Britain for you. If you voted for it you deserve everything you are about to receive🙏 I certainly did not vote for it. The worst act of self harm possible. It was always clear to me that vision set out by Johnson was impossible to achieve (all of the benefits of the club without any o...

Re: Ecotricity EV plus economy 7

Ecotricity has green electricity and is investing heavily in green gas too so that’s a big draw for me. Final price for economy 7 is 10.7p per kWh. Not bad and I trust Ecotricity’s environmental ethics and claims

We have called ours Ida as it was the only German female name by husband liked. Our VW camper is Otto as he’s also German and left hand drive.

I’m sure you should be able to haggle some sort of discount bearing in mind your situation.
Thanks for the tip. Which dealership did you use?

Well I ordered a dealer fitted reversing camera on my Life and it was delivered with dealer fitted reversing camera, said to be identical to the factory fitted item and I have no reason to doubt that.

Re: Should my Car have a Reversing Camera (and other things)

Puddle lights is a really odd one as they’re standard on all UK spec cars. Keyless entry will be a hard one to retrofit… As someone else posted - wonder if this was a car originally due for a different RHD market? My husband wondered if it was a car that was foisted on us but I think it is the car ...

Ecotricity EV plus economy 7

Hi all. We have been with Ecotricity for years and we are going to switch to their EV plus economy 7 tariff. They quoted 11.5p per kWh a few weeks ago for economy 7. This feels amazing. Charging overnight with green electricity at such an attractive rate. I’m sure it won’t stay at 11.5p this winter ...

Re: Should my Car have a Reversing Camera (and other things)

Well! This is exactly what happened with our Family. Missing the reversing camera, puddle lights, centre console high, two level boot and the keyless entry. Our dealership noticed that the camera was missing when they moved the car. We were told no items could be retrofitted. Anyone missing the cam...

Re: Sudden drop in range :(

I started off with only 177 miles for 80% yesterday but after 41 miles the range only dropped to 158 miles. 👍 Looking forward to the battery smoothing out. Thanks for all the advice. I was wonder if they will change the range prediction to work on a mix of route (if you have GPS on) and past driving...

Re: Should my Car have a Reversing Camera (and other things)

Our car was checked by the dealer [Listers] but obviously not by VW! Several things missing from the car that were part of the Family spec. Our local Listers said it’s the only mis-built car they have seen from VW and they said they did a double take when they realised. Seems more than one unicorn c...

Re: Should my Car have a Reversing Camera (and other things)

We negotiated £4000 discount on the car because of the missing items. We have to live without them and if we sell the car, we can’t really advertise it as a Family because it’s not. Initially they offered us just £2000 off and we told them no way! The alternative was waiting six months for another c...

Temp today is good so I don’t think that’s a factor. At least not now. I’m wanting to take the car to Aberdeen (from Leamington) in November. I’m thinking quite a few stops will be needed…

Re: Sudden drop in range :(

Great. Thank you everyone. I’m going to start following the three golden rules set out by VW. To the letter. Our dealership never talked through any of these rules. Now I know. It’s definitely a learning experience for us in these early days.

Sudden drop in range :(

Hi all. I’ve had my ID.3 for a few weeks. It has been registering 220 miles after a charge to 80% and about 270 miles after a charge to 100%. That has suddenly dropped. Now it’s saying 177 miles after a charge to 80%. We did our first longer journey in the car so could the car be calculating based o...
