Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

I really don't know what people think having the OS wiper raise first is going to achieve, When the wipers go up there is water left during excessive rain on the left hand side of the screen, so flip them to your so called " RHD " setup you will just have the apparent problem flipped to b...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

I think the regulator for type approvals in the UK is the vehicle certification agency. enquiries@vca.gov.uk https://www.vehicle-certification-agency.gov.uk/ There is a complaints link. It may be worth seeing if they have published anything relevant on their website, for example they may publish gu...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

If it been approved then it must be safe!! Why aren't they taking us seriously!!! They have taken it seriously, they have replied which means they took time over your enquiry. The wipers have been approved for use in the UK, if your not happy with that then you should be approaching the Vehicle cer...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

If anyone finds out a way of reporting this somewhere that will have any sort of impact I’ll join in. They are seriously dangerous and if they have been accepted in a test somewhere the test is wrong. I was driving down the M5 in a storm yesterday night and could hardly see a thing in my direct line...

Re: EV or PHEV short journeys

I’d steer well clear of a PHEV if you are only doing short journeys. The engine will hardly ever get used and you could find when you do use it your fuel will have gone off and you end up breaking down. This new E10 fuel doesn’t last very long. The shelf life is only 3 months. I’d not worry too much...

Re: Carplay small buttons and text

CarPlay is really bad on the ID3. I’d assumed it was just down to the high resolution of the screen making the buttons far too small. I had no such similar problems on my Polo GTi. It really does need attention though. It’s properly dangerous. I could far more easily use my actual phone to perform t...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

I am not convinced this is just the Ohme charger to blame, but from what I have read in this Forum it might be good to make sure the charger has been set up to deliver maximum charge. However, maybe the settings on your VW are over-riding the ones on the charger? In my experience, the car setting (...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

I need not have worried it might actually work. It only added 27% last night and was stuck at 4 kWh. I did wake up at one point and noticed but didn’t intervene so I had a nice unsuccessful charge for them to see. My behaves the same as @sidehaas does if it needs to add a lot of charge like last nig...

Re: Time to charge

I’m charging from a three pin plug. I’m a little confused by the app and the synchronising. The charging unit says it’s charging but the app doesn’t seem to be showing that it is… Do I need to be doing something specific on the app? I’m finding the app isn’t updating very well on iOS. If the app wa...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

I’ve been asked to start using the API again while they investigate the issue. I’m gonna be for some pretty random charge session outcomes I reckon. Then again it will probably behave flawlessly now it’s being watched. I’ve put it on charge for tonight and I’m actually willing it to go wrong so I sh...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

Ohme emailed me to apologise for closing the support ticket without checking with me first and have reopened it. It being escalated up so there is hope after all. I feel a bit bad about this thread and the snotty response I gave to the email yesterday but I was really very unimpressed! Fingers cross...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

This is interesting. I have an Ohme Pro sat by my desk waiting to be installed next week. We'll (probably) be getting a Cupra Born, so I guess that most of the info here is relevant. One question for people - mine has support for a "load balancing" sensor, which can monitor the overall ho...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

The other night I just wanted to charge from 65% to 80%, as I have the Tour we are talking somewhere in the region of 11.5 kWh. So it was simple to charge that amount in the 4 hour window you would think. No the Ohme only managed 7.3 kWh in that time and this is how it delivered this. kW Start End ...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

I've had similar unreliable experience as the OP with an Ohme Home Pro. I had some initial problems but managed to find a specific set of settings that worked reliably until they updated the app to allow API integration (note, I have never connected ot to my car's API.) Since that update it only wo...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

It does seem from other posts on the forum that’s it’s the Home Pro that others are having trouble with. It might well turn out there is some fault with the car and it’s not the charger, but over a month to respond to a support ticket and then to just close it because the last charge worked is blood...

Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

Rant alert! Don’t buy an Ohme charger if you have or are buying an ID.3. I’m a bit annoyed right now and perhaps shouldn’t be posting until I’ve had time to reflect but…. save yourself from their useless customer service. Buy a pod point or a dumb charger with a timer, anything else but DON’T by an ...

Re: Intermittent charging fault

Forgot to say in my last post that I think I'd caught the 'select Reduced AC charge' when stopping the previous charge from within the car, the two selectors are close together. I’ve never selected that setting and it isn’t turned on, thanks for the suggestion though. It’s bound to come up but I do...

Intermittent charging fault

As some of the regulars here will already know, I’ve been having problems with my car charging overnight on my Ohme where it sometimes only charges at 3.7 kWh. I was pretty convinced it was a problem with the charger because I could pause and resume an affected charge and it would jump straight to 7...

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit but does anyone know if you still get a reduced price offer for Ionity with a new ID.3?
I did when I signed up to we charge a few weeks back. You get the lowest paid subscription free for a year.
