Re: Software 3.2 updated and now home charging doesn’t work
My Cupra Born just got 3.2.1 and it refuses to charge on my Ohme if the charge doesn’t start in a few minutes. So it’s not just pod point that’s got issues. I’m having to use my Ohme as a dumb charger and schedule charging in the car. The dealership hasn’t heard of anyone else with this problem but ...

Re: Parts availability and Braking Issue
There was something wrong with the brakes on my ID3 but I couldn’t always get it to replicate the time it nearly caused me to crash. I going down a hill with regen going on in D mode and lightly when a car came round the corner from the junction on the wrong side of the road causing me to attempt an...

Re: How to defrost....
My Born is playing silly buggers with the offline thing at the moment and I’ve discovered going into user settings in the car and turning online mode of and on again in the privacy settings temporarily fixes the issue but it comes back after a short while. I’m not sure where it is in the menu on the...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
If anyone's in or near the North Tyneside area, I can use my OBD11 to turn it off (or make it selectable so that it remembers to stay off if you turn it off) If ever I’m up that way I’ll take you up on that offer thanks. Another point I’d like to add to this topic is there is absolutely nothing wro...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
Lane assist... ...is very useful on the motorway ... would be better if it only activated at 55mph rather than 40mph ...but isn't that much of a problem really ....and only takes 1 button and 1 screen press to turn on/off mid-drive if you put the assist menu in to list mode before you set off. P.S....

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
Not sure why anyone would doubt the integrity of the OP and their experiences, especially as these systems have been widely criticised for years. I certainly had a few uncomfortable incidents where I felt the system was potentially dangerous. It certainly needs some work (by all manufacturers) whic...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
So we have a combination of “no problems whatsoever” and “it’s definitely dangerous”. Under 30 mph, “cyclist exterminator” doesn’t do anything and over that it depends entirely on where you drive. If you drive under 30 all the time it doesn’t even activate. It might make out like it’s seeing the bou...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
Never had an issue with it in 18 months. 60mph limit or not, driving to the conditions might make a difference. Then you live somewhere with wonderful roads. It’s got nothing to do with driving to the conditions. It’s to do with road markings not being clear. The car yanking you from left to right ...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
Completely agree. It’s the most dangerous safety feature ever invented but is the result of badly conceived EU legislation.
Like you say, it would probably be fine on well maintained roads with clear road markings but on anything other than motorways it’s downright dangerous.

Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Another ID.3 owner who can directly compare it to the Cupra Born here. I tried to resist but review after review pointed consistently to things that appealed to me, e.g. styling details, chassis fettle and interior quality. Ordered a car that already had a build slot 6 weeks ago and picked it up ye...

Re: Charge rate dropped to 4kW
Yes, something odd - cold weather subtly affecting the timings? Mine failed again on Tuesday - to be fair, the first time for a while, and it finally nudged me into adding a fix. Rather than use the Ohme workaround profile, I'm detecting the slow-charge condition and restarting the charge from the ...

Re: VED on EVs in the 'fiscal statement'?
I’m not too bothered about the normal VED aspect and don’t think that would put people off buying an EV. The savings really come from being able to charge from home or BIK for company car drivers. The luxury car thing is a piss take though and if I didn’t have an EV already and the car I was sniffin...

Re: Charge rate dropped to 4kW
I have a similar issue, but I use a wallbox, some charges in my scheduled window work at 7.4kwh, others 4 or even 3.45kwh. This often does not get me close to ab 80% charge in the octopus go window. I have started waking to see what it is doing and when I find it at a lower charge rate, pausing and...

Re: Charge rate dropped to 4kW
I've said it elsewhere, OHME seem to have made this about as complicated as they could. The charging specifications, document that SoC is not communicated over AC so basing your whole charging process on achieving a target you can't see was a non starter. I bought an OHME Smart granny charger when ...

Re: Charge rate dropped to 4kW
Just an update for anyone interested. Basically they're blaming the car, saying there's historical compatibility issues between ID3/ID4/Enyaq/Born and scheduling - this is clearly bollocks as charging under schedule worked flawlessly with the ID3 for a year and then the Born for 3 months. Not this ...

Re: ID.3 Facelift Coming 2023
Most of your frustrations seem more about touchscreen controls and nothing to do with capacitive buttons. Increased use of touchscreens is a direction that all manufacturers have been going in but there are still some that fill a cabin with buttona if that's what you want. I thought VW's design was...

Re: ID.3 Facelift Coming 2023
To be honest they really REALLY needed to do this. I was moaning to a colleague today about some of the silly design choices with the ID3 / Born and the obvious cost saving of getting rid of physical buttons. I love my car but it would be so much better without all these silly and sometimes dangero...

Re: "You need to log in again" notification spam
I’m getting the exact same thing on by Cupra Born. Got the car in July but about 2 weeks ago it started spamming me with messages saying I’ve not logged in for a long time. Can’t clear them but the car obviously is logged in as I can control stuff like heating on the app.
