Re: Cost of servicing

£170 sounds a lot as a standard annual service price (years 2 and onwards). All they do is "checks" and perhaps replace a pollen filter. A Nissan Leaf gets that done for £90 a service. £170 Inc brake fluid change (at year 3 and every 2 years thereafter) sounds more likely. Until some owners get to ...

Re: Cost of servicing

The figure I’ve heard is £170 per service, with a schedule of 2 years then every year.

So £340 at the end of 3 years.

What does the update add. Is it a necessary update?

It changes the messages you’ll see when the 2.3 rollout begins, and makes a tweak to the digital manual - that’s it.

Stick with it.

The software has improved a huge amount in the last 10 months since I got mine.

Re: Tyre wear

Both fronts have 6mm remaining and rears 5.5mm (all even across the tyre) - (Goodyears) I was surprised that drive seems to be harder on the tyres than braking/steering, especially given c.70% of braking effort comes from the front. Rear tyres doing all the pushing, and a lot of braking force will ...

Re: ID3 Software Update v2.3

The update that seems to have been made available to ALL cars in the last 24 hours is NOT 2.3.

2.3 is software version 0910, but that won't be shown on the car until BOTH parts of that update have been installed - the first part takes 30 minutes to install, the second part 3 hours.

Re: OTA Update just occured!

This was posted by a guy on the UK Facebook group who seems to have a reliable source of information about updates: It is an OTA update but this is not part of the main 2.3 software update. This update updates the web app that displays the release notes for software updates plus it updates the in ca...

Re: Intermittent Wipers DO NOTHING

I've amended my comment, I meant to do either of those things after you've started the car up.

Re: OTA Update just occured!

I haven’t seen this yet but it would be very helpful if the displayed message told you how long the update will take. Or is that asking too much of VW? With all of the issues over the 2.0 update, we need confidence that we are not going to have an unusable car for hours, or even days if things go w...
