Re: Where to charge car on long journey

This has been my approach so far: (all for free) 1. Use this app to plan your route and stops: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ 2. Once you know where you'd like to stop, use any nav system (either the in-car version, or a phone app) to get you there as you drive. 3, Check the charger availability w...

Re: How long does Pod Point take to schedule installation

I had my Pod Point installed by an authorised 3rd-party within 8 calendar days of my first enquiry - Pod Point direct had given me a lead time of 5 weeks.

Re: iD3 driving position and back pain

I had good adjustable lumbar support in my previous car, and I don’t miss that at all in the ID.3 - it’s very comfortable for me.

There are a couple of specs that have electric seats, they have a massage function and may also have lumbar support.

Re: Car won’t start and strange symbol

Front Assist starting up with that white symbol is completely normal.

The SAFELOCK warning relates to the car auto locking the doors, that’s also completely normal if you have auto lock enabled.

Neither of those relate to your problem.

Re: Advice re charging for newbie to the EV world

If your 3-pin charge speed is 2.4kW and your car has a 58kWh battery, you’re adding just over 4% per hour, so to get from say 50%-80% would take about 12 hours. If your start level is less than 50% you won’t get to 80% unless you leave it plugged in for longer. Once you have a proper home charge poi...

Re: Unable to load connection status

Just resurrecting this thread again after a bit more experience with the car. I live in a suburban area and driving in a small city and rural areas alike, On most journeys the navigation gets stuck, the car is unable to load connection status and the speedometer on the ID display in front of the st...

Re: Charging at home

The VW implementation is felt by many to be over-complicated. Some people say they have had success by setting multiple shorter charge windows, so for example 00:00-01:30, 01:30-03:00, and 03:00-04:30 rather than a single 00:00-04:30 window. Many owners certainly hope they make it work more reliably...

Re: Does anyone use a mobile device as a vehicle key?

I already have keyless entry making use of UWB between key and car, so I'm not sure why there's concern over a phone potentially doing the same.
