Re: Newbie thinking about Life and Family

Style is now only available in the UK as a "Pure Performance" model with 150PS and a 45kWh battery (not 204PS and 58kWh), so power and range may steer people towards Life or Family anyway.

Re: OTA Update just occured!

No difference to the 0792 version number, no noticeable new functions apparently, here’s the info that comes up on screen: Digital manual: Small improvements, error prevention ORURN: Minor improvements, errors fixed The new app version 1.16.0 on iOS was released yesterday: Push notifications if prob...

Re: Wireless phone charger

Of all the UK spec cars, only the 1st Edition does not have wireless phone charging.

Re: Navigation Map Update 21.3

21.5 is the latest I believe, my car is in the workshop today so I can't check mine to confirm what it has.

As far as I'm aware you can't do anything to initiate an OTA update if it's not offered to you by the car.

(I use Apple Maps via CarPlay rather than the in-car nav in any case)

Re: 1st edition vs. current tiers

The configs are different, the alloys and the climate control are the most obvious ways. I'm surprised a 1st Plus was built in January, that might be specific to LHD markets or certain countries as I've not heard of any being available in the UK as a brand new car other than those which were pre-reg...

Re: 1st edition vs. current tiers

I doubt that a 1st Plus will have been manufactured in January - most of them were made prior to the September 2020 launch. If there is any mileage on it (other than delivery miles) it will probably either have been used as a demo car or even rejected by it's initial owner - the paperwork should giv...

Re: Home charging recommendations

Ask a local approved charge point installer to take a look at that option with you. You could rely on a granny lead but be careful with the extension AND the domestic socket/wiring. You could rely on public charging. But if it were me, I would want to understand more about your options for a proper ...

Re: What features does your ID.3 WeConnect app allow.

What you’ve been told about the Shop is true for the Golf 8, but that pairs with We Connect rather than We Connect ID.

I’m hoping for feature parity between the ID.3 and Golf as regards this kind of thing, and soon 🤞

Re: Newbie about to order?

Don't !!! They are selling lemons right now and you can't make these things into lemonade. Under 300 miles and with the constant major errors it is unsafe to drive, can't run, and just a dud. Honestly save yourself the hell and buy anything but this car. We are currently trying to get our money bac...

Re: Newbie about to order?

1. No issue if you use the car right away. However, to charge from 80-100% takes about the same amount of time as 20-80% - there's no point sitting at a rapid charger waiting for 80-100%, you'd be better off making a second "top up" stop further south to get you home, it will take less time overall....
