Re: Driving in icey conditions
I've had the ID3 for a couple months shy of a year now. Been in icy conditions a few times, I've only had wheelspin once during those periods, and it was a particularly bad section and the loss of grip wasn't that bad at all. While there was wheelspin and I didn't ever lose control of the car and it...

Re: Car shooting forward
I've heard the same story from people who are used to manual transmission who have to start using automatics. The car suddenly jumps forward or backward when they're not expecting it. I'm not sure if its that that they put their feet in the wrong place or get momentarily confused but I'm pretty conv...

Re: Would you order another ID3?
I'll be holding onto my ID3 until we need a bigger car, so I don't think I'd be buying it again solely because I'll be needing a bigger car next time.

Re: Are there changelogs for higher than 3.2?
I've gotten supposed update messages on my ID3 running 3.0 since fairly early in my time using it. From what I understand these are the result of a bug. I've tried to install whatever it was and it didn't seem like anything changed.

There seems to be an issue with syncing at the moment

ID3 Wedding
Hello All, thought you might appreciate this. Last November, myself and my other half got married after being together over a decade. Originally I was going to hire a car for the day, but I realised I'd be wasting money when my ID3 would be perfect for the day. So I ordered a few decorations for the...

Re: Home Assistant integrations
Have you or anyone else having problems with the integration basically timing out after a short period of time? I've noticed that everything is out of date usually within an hour and I have to reinitialise the integration again in order to see live data again. I've not seen it to this extent, but c...

Re: Home Assistant integrations
Yesterday was the first time that I'd charged the car away from home and managed to time my trip into IKEA almost exactly with the car getting to 80% charge. :D Ended up translating your home reminder into Node-red where I already have some automations that work when I get home. I'll work something...

Re: Max and Tour
I honestly think that VW have been prioritising every EU territory over the UK. It would explain why so many of you have been left without a car despite me ordering in October 21 and delivery in July 22. As a Tour 5 owner, I'm not really worried about the second hand value of the car. The facelift d...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
It's as likely to push you towards a parked car or a bike when you are paying attention as it is to stop you drifting if you are not. It's a poorly executed "safety feature". Right idea, but it needs to recognise potential obstacles within the lane markings before it can have a good crack...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
I have to agree that Lane Assist is there are a failsafe mechanism, in the same way that emergency braking is. Similarly travel assist slows the car down when the car in front slows down. I don't see any of these systems independently replacing a driver, but they all act as failsafes. Similarly to w...

Re: Home Assistant integrations
Excellent, I'll give it an update during the week this week. I've been working on some automations on my home security devices recently and I'm happy enough with them now so I could start looking at doing more with the car. Loads of cool stuff you can do, not least of which being to bin the VW / Cu...

Re: We charge rfid card
Does anyone know how we would use our phones at the Ionity charger stations? When I drove through Europe there was a handful of stations that didn't have a RFID reader but did have the option for the smart phone app which didn't seem to have any option for adding our account details or anything. If...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
In fairness, I've only ever been on 3.0. I would have hated to see what it was like on start up prior to 3.0! In fairness, the biggest delay I have is waiting for Android Auto to connect, the actual infortainment start up only occasionally is particularly slow, might be similar to what sidehaas desc...

Re: The new ID.3 update coming next spring
Badge engineering is as old as the motor industry. Don't be conned. If you have a car that you like and enjoy driving, it doesn't matter if Joe Bloggs next door has a newer "improved" version. To go along with that, I just saw on the Battery Life YouTube channel that the prices for the ID...

Re: Lane Assist is downright dangerous
So I think there is some exaggeration happening on both sides of this discussion. I've had the car for 6 months now, ten thousand kilometres done across Irish, French, Belgium and Germany roads of all size and types. On roads with normal markings, I'd say its been 99% accurate, the main problems I'v...

Re: Home Assistant integrations
Report this as a bug! Only way to find out :) I'm pretty sure someone on this forum already reported it... https://github.com/mitch-dc/volkswagen_we_connect_id/issues/55 I think its mainly related to unavailability events. But potential disrupts automations because I might set it to do something on...
