Re: Would you do it again?

I wouldn't do it again with the 1st Edition as I'm not sure it was good value for money. We have definitely been beta testers. But with the range now available and with V2.0 (0783) software and above, I would definitely buy it now. I test drove the i3 for 24 hours about a year ago and I would say th...

How cold weather affects EV batteries

In tomorrow's EV Cafe, Euan McTurk (electric vehicle battery electrochemist) will be talking about how cold weather affects EV batteries. It is a zoom webinar on 20th January from 12pm to 2pm. I have no affiliation with this but thought that some of this forum's members would be interested as there ...

Re: ME2.0 update cancelled

Did you tell your dealer in advance about the Warm Hands air vent issue? It was on the list I sent to mine, and it’s now working correctly for RHD. No I didn’t but as simonrg pointed out, I expected (perhaps naively) VW to fix all known issues especially if they are software controlled which I assu...

Re: ME2.0 update cancelled

So, post-update to 2.0 this week, and getting the car back last night, popped out and spent some time with the car today checking functions out etc. - the good news is that everything seems to be working perfectly! Wireless CarPlay is great...and the simple change of having the home button on the d...

Re: ME2.0 update cancelled

Because it’s not as simple as plug-in and press a button, this is a post from a master tech on Facebook: Very useful info. Thanks scott28tt. I wish corporates wouldn't put stuff behind the walled-garden of Facebook. Many use it but not everyone. It's much appreciated to have someone willing to rela...

My car went in on Tuesday and service shop has just told me they can't complete the update as VW have pulled the download.
Rather concerning for those of us that have already had the update. Are there some worrying bugs I wonder?

Re: New software, new problem

I’m not having any heater issues (0783 / v2.0), apart from ‘warm hands’ blowing out the wrong side.

Where are the USB sockets in my ID.3 Life, please ?
You're not looking for USB A sockets are you? The ID.3 has USB C sockets. If you only have type A cables you will need a USB A > USB C adaptor.

Re: ID3 Home Charging

I have an Andersen (the A2) - and I can't recommend it enough. It looks very nice! While we are on the topic of chargers that work, I am using an openEVSE (https://guide.openenergymonitor.org/integrations/openevse/) which works flawlessly with the ID.3 (and also my Leaf) and is ideal for those with...
