Re: ME2.0 update cancelled

Just got my 1st Edition back Friday 15th with v2.0 installed. I originally dropped it in at CityGate VW Watford at 8.00am Monday morning with a list of software issues and they thought I'd have it back sometime Tuesday, however I was called on Tuesday lunchtime to say the update had failed so they w...

Re: IONITY Charging - but not charging?

Its a different scenario to not being asked for IONITY account details but in my case I have used the "free £500" IONITY WeCharge card on a number of occasions (not at IONITY branded chargers) and while it charged my ID.3 main EV battery as anticipated I am unable to see that any charge ha...

Re: List of issues experienced in 4 weeks.

I understand that the tyres are designed as self-sealing however the appearance in the morning of a flat tyre told me another story, and at that point the car just became a large paperweight sitting on the driveway with no way to get that now flat tyre/wheel combination to a tyre shop. The supply of...

Re: Is it me?

I have had our ID.3 for exactly a month and while I appreciate that I was well aware that there was to be a large software patch I don't think there was ready for the hardware design shortcomings of this car. The unlit infotainment screen panel is such a basic omission from a legacy car maker, after...

Re: List of issues experienced in 4 weeks.

Thanks for that, I had typed a longer reply than this one with some additional observations but it appears to have got lost in the ether (or it was moderated by VW after I suggested that there were a number of obvious design flaws and that some designers and managers who signed off their work should...

Re: Sat nav freeze

I have also experienced this popping and SatNav freeze but it only happened on one day but on multiple occasions on that day. As an aside the weather was very wet that day and I wonder if there could be a water ingress issue? I have just posted a full list of the issues I have experienced in the pas...

List of issues experienced in 4 weeks.

We've now had the car for 4 weeks and have got just 495 miles on the clock (lockdown certainly helps keep the mileage down!) and I have made a list of the problems I've encountered so far. I have the car booked into the service department of CityGate (VW) Watford mid-January and have also supplied t...

Re: ID3 Wheel options

I have an ID.3 1st Edition that comes with 19" wheels and I can tell you the they are definitely not your standard 19" low profile wheels/tyres where you feel even the tiniest of bumps in the road and they have a good amount of sidewall to take care of riding curbs etc. The actual tyre tha...

Re: Unintended Acceleration

I have had the ACC engaged when approaching a roundabout or traffic lights when I intend to make a turn and found the car identified the junction, automatically slowed to a predefined speed, then tried to accelerate to the speed limit halfway through the turn. Very disconcerting and definitely somet...

Re: Missing Park Assist Plus on UK 1st Editions?

Thanks for that, I am pretty sorry that I ever considered buying this car for my wife. The information and literature surrounding the initial launch and subsequent supplied information along with the push by VW to "encourage" those with reservations to accept a very average vehicle for wha...

Missing Park Assist Plus on UK 1st Editions?

When I originally ordered the ID.3 1st Edition I was led to believe that it was a ordering a car that would be loaded with extras however it appears that the UK version has been stripped back from the 1st Edition version that our European neighbours are allowed to enjoy. I have just noticed that the...

Re: Dash cam and tracker

I was also looking into having a front and rear dash cam (Thinkware Q800 or U1000) fitted but not by the VW dealership but by a specialist company, however I'm still in two minds at the moment as there have been a number of reports of the 12v battery dying so I didn't want to add any extra load.

90% charge only showing 216 miles

I'm having issues getting my wall charger fitted so have had to resort to using a "granny charge" cable and as it's so slow I have decided to temporarily increased my charge from 80% to 90%. However I have noticed that when the battery apparently reaches 90% it only shows a range of 216 mi...

Re: Satnav and road sign assist freezing

After 7 days of ownership and just a couple of hundred miles on the clock this evening our ID.3 suffered the first of what will probably many issues with the appearance of a 'SOS, Please Visit Workshop' message on the driver's display. After digging into the menu system I discovered it seemed to be ...
