Re: You currently have no contracts for mobile online services

I had this same problem Sprocketman. After several contacts with VW the problem seemed to centre around part of my address details were not complete on my WeConnect profile. So worth checking there. I suspect they’ve changed some fields from optional to required and I had ended up with a profile wit...

Re: You know it's coming, don't you.....

If it stops you getting points and a fine, and makes everyone around you safer, why not? But… this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/content/news/mandatory-speed-limiters-on-uk-cars-from-2022 One reason why not is if VW's software still has holes in it in 2022. When driving down the A1(M) a few months ...

Re: How to fit a Dash Cam to an ID3

While running the cable for my dashcam the cover popped off the front camera housing behind the rear view mirror… what do you think the chances are of taking power from here? It would be rather neat…

On a very positive note: sending a destination to vehicle appears to be instantaneous now 👍

This update seems to have removed the ability to switch heated seats on or is that option hidden somewhere else now?

Re: 90mph speed limit??

Car is running 2.1 I have been down this road before without problem so very weird. I had other things on my mind than to check for what might have triggered as I was keen to gather the photo evidence! I will be driving down there at the weekend so will check. I wonder if maybe the car spotted one o...

90mph speed limit??

Most dangerous error message yet: while cruising towards a roundabout on the A1(M) near Sandy, where the speed limit drops to 50mph, the ACC suddenly decided the permissible speed limit was 90 and began accelerating! Rightly or (and I guess mostly wrongly) I decided it was a good idea to get a pictu...

Send destination to my vehicle…err where?

Using the map function in the WeConnect app to locate a destination and the associated share option “send to my vehicle” is promising, but…..

Where does it go?

The Nav screen in the car kinda hiccups like it HAS received something, but I can’t find it. Has anyone cracked this?

My favourite error message so far

Over the last few weeks voice control has been cutting in for no particular reason. On my last journey after continuing to offer me directions to places I’ve never heard of and refusing to shut up, I have to admit my polite requests became somewhat abusive. She then came out with the immortal punchl...

So much better than cold weather 2.5-2.7 m/kWhr!
That’s the sort of performance I’m seeing too. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather for two reasons now :)

Re: Heat and electrical stuff on when engine off

I must admit I assumed the heating and peripherals would all be powered from the main battery and the 12volt did things like hazard lights and locks... Does anyone know for certain what the 12v battery powers? I believe it's everything except the drive motor. It is meant to be topped up when the ca...

Re: Heat and electrical stuff on when engine off

It's wise to keep an eye on your 12v battery as it can become depleted and just driving the car isn't always enough to keep it topped up. I've started putting a 12v charger on it from time to time to make sure. I must admit I assumed the heating and peripherals would all be powered from the main ba...

Re: ACC is Deactivated for 25 Minutes Why? Where is the radar sensor?

I think I’ve had this error but only briefly, never in an extended repeated fashion as you describe. Sounds like it could well be in the mix of the software issues, it’s strange how things manifest differently for so many people. The radar sensor is behind the front bumper, however there are a wealt...

Re: Heat Pump and Range

Rather than expecting the heat pump to increase your range is it more useful to view that the heat pump reduces the impact of heating the car and protecting the range. By extension, a non heated, non pump equipped EV will out perform one with a heat pump. In order to achieve 30% improvement I assume...

Yes, just once, and switching off and on cleared it.
The danger is it makes you think EVERY error message is actually not a real real error message :-/

What new SW feature would you like for Christmas?

It’s Christmas so what ID3 present would you like? Not making an existing one work properly (and will hopefully fixed by 2.x) but instead something extra and new... I’d quite like the option to turn off the range guess-o-meter and instead have the number of kWh left in the battery displayed. Then yo...

Re: We Connect ID app and missing wifi

I had this problem when the car was offline. Going into settings (in the car) and flipping to online resolved the display in the app straight away. Try setting the car to offline and see if it recreates the issue.
