Re: Tronity subscription - or not?
I don't understand why this isn't the kind of information the VW App gave you, the data is clearly available as 3rd parties can manage to do it. Yes, me too. Since the 3.2 software update I can at least see on the VW app whether my car is locked or not, but it could, I think be so much more useful....

Re: Tronity subscription - or not?
This page gives details of the different packages, what else were you trying to find out? https://www.tronity.io/en/pricing It was originally free to ID owners due to limited functionality, this has been resolved I believe hence the 'new' data. Thanks for this link. Are you subscribing? Which level...

Tronity subscription - or not?
I have the Tronity app, which has recently improved such that it looks, possibly, genuinely useful to an ID.3 driver. I've had a free trial, which expires at the end of this month, and they're pestering me to subscribe, either to their 'premium' service at about £30/year, or the 'professional' servi...

Re: Efficiency
After my car's software 3.2 update I saw efficiency improvement but I formed no conclusions short term because it might have been the journey types, or the weather. But now I feel confident that the efficiency really has improved. My 1st Edition used to give about 3.5M/kWh, and now it's giving aroun...

Re: No radio/media sound - after software 3.2 update
Thanks everyone for your input. Mine seems to have cured itself - for the time being.
Delighted though I am to have wireless Android Auto working at last, I do still find it occasionally fails to connect to the phone. This also sorts itself out next time I get in the car.

Re: No radio/media sound - after software 3.2 update
Thanks for this help, guys. I've now experienced a possibly related problem. I used Android Auto to listen to a podcast in Google Podcasts. Most of the time I wish to listen to FM/DAB radio, though. But now every time I get in the car and Android Auto starts up, the same bloomin' podcast starts play...

No radio/media sound - after software 3.2 update
Hi, has anyone else experienced occasional lack of sound from the infotainment system? Three times now, since my car had its Software 3.2 update, I've set off and found that the radio is silent. If I swipe the volume slider, the infotainment says I'm adjusting the telephone volume. Audio volume seem...

Re: Tyre recall
Yes I understand the Goodyear 19" tyres fitted as original equipment to some ID.3 1st Edition cars can develop radial cracks in the sidewall and are subject to a recall. Mine were swapped out after I'd driven on them 18,000 miles, for Bridgestone equivalents - which I think are quieter than the...

Re: Tyre noise
Michelin e primacy were significantly quieter than the Bridgestones fitted (not to mention way more durable). Thanks for this. Are your Michelins self-sealing? I have neither a spare wheel nor a repair kit (or even a jack). 19" wheels. No, I believe you're referring to run flats? Never had tho...

Re: Wireless Android Auto after 3.2 update
I've never had an issue in two and a half years to be honest with wireless or by cable, both work but prefer cable due to the charging plate being unreliable. Are we on the same page? I'm talking about Android Auto function, displaying phone apps including Google Maps on the infotainment screen. Th...

Re: Tyre noise
I had a look at blackicircles.com for tyres suitable for my Tour - they publish a noise rating and according to them the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance C+ SealTech have a rating of 67db but the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 B-Seal have a rating of 72db. I'm not sure how those figures are arr...

Re: Solar + Battery thoughts
In case it's of any help, I've had my system for about three years now. 12 x 375W panels, 5kW inverter, Tesla Powerwall 13.5kWh battery. All in the system cost about £14,000, split roughly evenly between the solar and the battery. I don't think the Tesla Powerwalls are currently easy to come by, so ...

Re: Wireless Android Auto after 3.2 update
Update after using wireless Android Auto for a couple of weeks: It's mostly great but occasionally it fails to connect to my Google Pixel 7 Pro phone. When I get in the car sometimes it comes straight up with Android Auto, sometimes it shows an icon for Android Auto which you have to tap in order to...

Tyre noise
Tyre noise, subjectively, is more of an issue in an electric car because there's little or no motor noise, so tyre noise and wind noise become more evident. My ID.3 is coming up to three years old now, and until it went in for its software 3.2 update recall it was on the original Goodyear tyres. The...

Re: ID3 charging with a Zappi
I don't usually charge my car from excess solar, preferring to charge it using Octopus Go cheap overnight rate. However I think I remember learning some time ago that the ID.3 monitors charging and if it stops and starts again more than a few times (3?) the car decides there may be a problem with th...

Re: Guessometer broken after 3.2 Update
Thanks guys. I manually resync'd and after a while I noted it's now reading a reasonable approximation.
I'm very glad the battery % now shows in the instrument binnacle. I'll rely on that.

Guessometer broken after 3.2 Update
I charged my car to 100% last night, and this morning the mobile app is reporting the charge state is 100% and 132 miles of range. Yesterday before charging it said 70% and 90 miles range. Before the 3.2 update if I charged to 100% the app would report 230 miles of range - and that would prove to be...
