Yes, I did, and still do though with the cold weather the problem is particularly persistent.

Re: 12v battery restricted

Yes, I'm getting it too despite the app setting being to maintain charge from the main battery. Really annoying because the only time you want to warm the car up in advance is when it's cold, yet you can't if the 12V battery's low.

Re: OBD11 after the dealership software upgrade from 2.4 to 3.2

As this is supposed to be a safety measure is your insurance still valid if you turn it off using OBD? It has a pretty amusing attitude to single-track roads, as does the speed limit recognition, but I can't say it bothers me.

12V battery low warning

I just tried to turn on the a/c from the VW app and got a warning that the 12V battery was low and needed charging by turning on the car or driving it. I sat in it for a few minutes trying to remember what the commands were, didn't change anything, locked it, and a few minutes later the warning in t...

Re: Switch between D and B .. and back

I switch to B on winding roads and long hills, and sometimes when I switch back to D all the warning lights come up though the car behaves perfectly normally. I think you should be able to do this without lighting up a christmas tree but I'm not going to raise it with the garage. All is well after I...

Re: Exclusions from Service Plan

I was finally persuaded to take out a service plan for 2 years despite the information about it being inconsistent. The car went in today for its first service and it seems that £75 for brake fluid is not included. VW really know how not to make friends. When I can find an independent specialist ga...

Re: Exclusions from Service Plan

Have now checked my receipt for the plan, for which no acknowledgement ever materialised, and it was £199. With £75 for the brake fluid this is in fact cheaper than the ID deal on the VW website, which is £338. I have absolutely no idea what is going on but at least I don't seem to have been overcha...

Although I live in the UK our house has 3-phase because it and its neighbour used to be a hotel. For the same reasons as you I thought if we were getting work done we might as well get a 3-phase charger soI got a MyEnergi Zappi, which has been fine. Re: Headlight option in low sun

Technically they aren’t front fog lights, they are poor weather lights and they don’t project light forwards but out to the side so really won’t benefit anything coming towards you. Interesting, I didn't know that, thanks. I am careful not to use rear fogs in almost all conditions except pea-souper...

Headlight option in low sun

Driving with the sun behind me, at this time of year, I'm unclear whether the riding lights are enough for oncoming vehicles to see me. I tried using the front fogs and no-one objected, but is that really necessary? Normally the lights are on auto and I don't have to think about them.

Re: WeConnect network outage - again

Still nothing. The only way to defrost the car seems to be to set A/C to start following unlock, then unlock it and leave the key in the car. Otherwise it will lock itself again in a short time. This is really not great.

Re: New rear tyres at 12000? Really?

At 8000 miles and after a software update VW garage advised changing the rear tyres in about 1500 miles and not getting Bridgestone ever again. 1000 miles later one of them went flat on the motorway. Grrr.

Re: 2 year service approaching £215 ?

Dealer phoned with £199 offer on first service at 2y which was said to be a steal in comparison with £360 normal service cost. This seems fishy.
