That’s really interesting. I will have to take the cover off the pod point and see if I can do as you did.
Thanks

Re: ID3 Home Charging
I found exactly the same thing, car started charging as requested under “locations” but only added a tiny amount of range. I also tried setting a departure time to see if that would force the car to up its charging rate, but it didn’t make any difference. I have installed a relay in line with the pi...

Re: ID3 Home Charging
That’s really interesting, thank you for replying. I have experienced exactly the same thing when using the timer - where the car does charge, but at a ridiculously slow rate. I guess we will just have to wait until 2.1 and hope that it all gets sorted! I wish I could get app functionality back in t...

Re: ID3 Home Charging
Having read everyone’s contributions to this thread I am still a bit confused. I have the 0783 software installed and now have access to “locations” and preferred charging times etc, but I just can’t get it to work properly using our Pod-Point Solo charger. The only way I can reliably charge our ID3...

Re: ID3 Home Charging
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I have a question for those of you that have either “hacked” your charger with a relay to introduce a timer function, or have a timer function built in to your charger: I have installed a relay in my pod point charger, that I can control from an app on m...

Re: What are your best bits?
Excellent idea for a thread. Ours is currently at a dealer (hopefully) being fixed and we only had it for a few days before it went away, but we love it! Speaking as a previous Model S owner, I am hugely impressed with the ID3, especially as it is VW’s first attempt at a ground-up EV. As others have...

Re: 5 days into ownership....
Just a quick update for anyone who’s interested. The car was recovered on Tuesday and taken to a nearby VW dealer. They have told me that the car is going to have software version 0783 installed early next week, so hopefully this should resolve the 12v battery issue. Apparently this particular softw...

5 days into ownership....
Had to call VW Assist this morning to try and address the following issue: Went to set off and the car wouldn’t engage drive, in either direction. It then proceeded to display many error messages relating to drive system, ACC, 12v, climate etc etc - basically all the error messages possible I think....

Re: Changing to Alloys
We’re due to pick up our Life next week and I was having exactly the same thoughts as you regarding the steel wheels. I found these on the VW parts website: https://www.volkswagenpartsuk.co.uk/parts/id3-18-loen-alloy-wheel-brilliant-silver/ The dealer supplying our car sold them to us for £720 inc V...
