Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Just got my car back after it was with Lookers Wimbledon for 10 days for 2.4 update and new 12v battery. Checked system information screen when I got it back and it still says it’s on ID software 2.3.0, hardware H20, software 0912. I take it it’s supposed to say ID software 2.4.0 or something like t...

Re: Heated seat and stering wheel
That’s terrible. I’m sure when I used it last winter it worked fine.
Feels like a big step backwards to offer it to owners and then revoke it!

Re: Heated seat and stering wheel
Any idea what the cold temperature threshold is for turning on heated steering wheel? Maybe a dumb question but I used to be able to turn on heated seats from the app but now only seem to be able to control the cabin temp from the app. Has VW removed ability to turn on heated seats remotely? Seems a...

Re: General 2.3 OTA rollout to start
Apologies if this has already been covered, but I too have multiple warning lights on and then this morning got an error message saying "System update failed. 91CA_82. Please contact workshop" I then got another progress bar showing update 91CA_82 0.0.0 downloading. Does anyone know if thi...

Re: Motorway speed power consumption
sadly i think the mentaility of charging to 100% on public chargers is still quite pervasive. as you say this is madness as the r.o.c drop dramatically for the fnal 20% or so In most cases its just some sort of irrational manifestatio of range anxiety or its just downright anti-social it might also ...

Re: Motorway speed power consumption
Just got back from a 290 mile trip from London to Lizard in Cornwall. We took the ID3 and the Tesla Model 3 as hotel had 2 destination chargers. Interestingly both cars required 1 stop. The Tesla needed a 15 min charge and the ID3 needed a 50 min charge. The Tesla felt like it could have done the wh...

Motorway speed power consumption
Planning first motorway trip from London to Devon.
Model is ID3 Family and will be using aircon, CarPlay and driving around 70-80mph. Forecast says about 20 degrees.
Any idea what sort of kWh/mi economy to expect given above situation?
Not sure whether the Family model is 58 or 62 kWh battery?

Re: Information about the 2.3 OTA update
Why on earth do they restrict such large update data files to 4G, i mean what is the point of having WIFI on the car which can connect to your home network. i have an intermittent 1 bar of 4g signal on the car where I live, i guess this means im going to have a difficult time time succesfully downlo...

Re: Does anyone use a mobile device as a vehicle key?
It sounds like it requires factory fitted hardware rather than a software update to enable. Maybe VW might offer as a retrofit option in the dealership? My Tesla Model 3 has the mobile phone as a key (and a backup rfid(?) card) which I must say is brilliant, I can even open it and preheat, honk, ven...

Anyone know when VW plan to start rolling out OTA updates and what sort of updates to expect?
Similarly, any insights on when the will update the laggy and feature poor app? Eg remote lock/ unlock, cabin temp, flash, honk, vent windows etc. As per Tesla app

Re: I’ll probably get hung for this - ID3 or Tesla 3
I have both an ID3 family and a Tesla Model 3 Performance. I don’t recall them being close in price though, about £30k and £55k respectively, so M3 is almost twice the price. We bought an ID3 as needed an inexpensive hatch back for the dogs, for short trips around town, school run etc. For this it’s...

Rear mounted bike carrier
I recent asked VW for a price to supply and fit a tow ball for my existing bike carrier. Almost fell off my chair when they quoted £1,275 which is just a silly number. Their own bike carrier would be an extra £400 on top of this number..... Anyone found a rear mounted bike carrier which hooks over t...

Re: Mirror dip when reversing
I live in central london and like to think I have reasonable lane discipline, however on quite a few occasions I have found it tugging away at the steering wheel pulling me towards danger rather than away from it which is always alarming and usually results in loud cursing! Massively annoying not to...

Re: Mirror dip when reversing
I think it’s just another example of poorly designed software. Driver should be able to select in vehicle settings ‘always dip on reverse’ or the existing (rather confounding) ‘only dip on reverse when L is manually selected’ It’s a bit like the lane departure system defaulting to ON at the start of...

Re: Mirror dip when reversing
That seems to be step backwards from my old MK5 golf where the mirror selector was always in L position so that when you select reverse it automatically dips. There’s nothing automatic about having to turn the mirror selector knob to L every time you want to reverse with the mirror dipped! Bit of a ...
