Re: What’s Up with the charging speeds ?

Since this thread is still going and I haven't seen this posted yet, I think this graph can clear up a lot of confusion about speeds and when you can expect what charge rate: https://cdn.motor1.com/images/custom/fast-charging-of-volkswagen-id3-pro-source-fastned.png That said, please do note that th...

Re: How cold weather affects EV batteries

I missed this, but would be interested to hear if there were any juicy tidbits? Would be interesting to compare to my own experiences and maybe pick up a tip or two. I live in Sweden, park my ID3 outside and I have still managed to get very good range with mine. Last week has ranged from -3 to -16, ...

Re: cold air while heating

Been using my car in -15c here in Sweden and I park it outside, have had no such issues. In other words, that does not sound anything like my experience and does not sound normal which makes me wonder if you may have an actual issue with the AC rather than just the way you have set it up.

Re: Load length

I've just discovered, to my surprise, that I can load an 8ft fence post into my ID.3 with room to spare. That's through the ski hatch in the rear seat back, at a slight diagonal all the way forwards into the front passenger footwell. Previously I had a Passat Estate and I think the ID.3 can take lo...

My life model has the USB-c in both locations. But good to know the rear ones are for power only, hadn't realised this.
Thanks
Indeed, mine is also a Life trim model and I have all 4.

Re: What did you get with your car?

I haven't noticed any mention of freebies on these forums, but I'm assuming that others received a goody-box like I did? On handover I was given a nice white cardboard box like a chocolate box. Inside was my We Charge card, and also some surprising random gifts including these socks: PXL_20210111_0...

Didn't check back here very soon. Just like someone already mentioned, there are 4 USB-C. If you need type A ones I believe you are out of luck.

Re: Volume buttons uncontrollable.

The strip under the screen is ok but not easy to use when driving. I suppose I'm just too old fashioned expecting buttons to work when you press them. Never did like swiping. You can swipe on the buttons on the steering wheel. I do that both for the stereo and for controlling the cruise control, fo...

Re: Noob question regarding supercharger

Yes, I'm starting to believe that's the case. I'm going to be very amazed if they manage to pull it off in the ME2.1 or any future update. Also, the 280km of highway driving is without any heating at all, and I believe the battery is pre-heated, but even then I doubt it'll manage that distance. I g...

Re: Car lock

Had the exact same issue a couple of days ago. I put the key in the front-centre cup holder just like scott28tt mentioned above but the crucial part here is not time but to hit the break to start "ignition". I put the key on the icon in the cup holder and as soon as I hit the break with th...

Re: Frozen Bonnet

Hi Yes i had a similar problem this weekend but with the charging flap which would not open. I then warmed the car by turning on the A/C through the app and the flap did eventually open but then would not stay shut unless you pushed it closed and locked the car. Now when you unlock the car the flap...

Re: ID.3 Driving on Icy Roads

Thanks, I think most of my snow / ice driving issues are down to the tyres, the UK doesn't have a continental climate so our seasons blend and apart from a few days of the year we get away with driving on "summer" tyres. I now realise the Continental Ecocontact 6 tyres my ID.3 was supplie...

Re: ID.3 Driving on Icy Roads

The ID.3 is the first rear wheel drive car I have driven in a long time, so I was expecting things to be a bit different on icy roads, and so I am not sure whether my ID.3 was doing what it should be or not. What most surprised me was when going up a hill finding the car sliding back down the hill,...

Re: Infotainment : Media

Thanks Scott. I've put a usb stick in and it works with the built in player. Strange thing though, the volume + & - buttons on the wheel seem buggy. Tap plus and the volume keeps going up until on max. Tap minus, same thing. Then after a few attempts it sometimes works as it should. I don't kno...

I'm Emanuel from Sweden. I have loved cars since I was a kid, I'm a massive F1 fan and enjoy engineering in general. I picked up my glacier white ID.3 as my first EV just before christmas. While I was pretty confident I would like the car (didn't test drive, spent roughly 10 minutes with the salesma...

Re: Wheels

Hi all, I'm considering buying an iD.3, but am really not impressed with any of the offered wheel choices, they're all downright ugly imo. Has anyone fitted any other/aftermarket wheels? On the VW online configurator the biggest choice is a 7.5j 20" with 215/45 tyres, anyone know if the 8j 20&...
