Re: Dashcams: Current preferred dashcam please?

I ended up with a NextBase - not the most recent one - with a rear eyeball. I ran wires, but rather than wiring it into the fusebox, I just used the 12V socket in the boot. Hiding some more of the wire is firmly in my when I get around to it list. Works OK. I did a similar thing. Went for a Miofive...

Re: Hey ID....turn climate control on (please..)

In the car today and found that you can turn AC on and off with voice control. Also, I noticed that if you try and turn off Climate control when it’s already off you get the same response saying it’s not available. So I wonder if it’s a bug. Oh....so it worked and then it didn't work ? That's odd. ...

Re: Skoda Enyaq One Month In

That’s a great update thanks. Does it feel much bigger or heavier to drive. I remember Sidehaas saying the ID.4 was noticeably different.

Re: Another ID.3 Newbie, ex Peugeot e-208

Welcome to the forum. Glad you’re enjoying it!

I think in the summer I was able to get well over 4m/kwh, maybe around 4.5 or a bit higher at times. From what I worked out it would need to be near 5 to get the claimed range.

Re: Newbie to ID.3

Welcome to the forum. On the size front I still haven’t got used to the very short front end. I think I’m close to the kerb when turning out my drive but have bags of room.

One minor tip, it’s rear wheel drive and can be quite eager when it’s wet!

Re: Further updates after 3.7

Do you know if it changes the longer number in system info in vehicle settings in the infotainment at all? Or is there any other way to tell if you have had the update? No, the software version in system information remains the same; 1751. The only control module that gets updated is the inverter; ...

Re: Software Update

You don’t really have any control over the updates (apart from the consent mentioned above). They can roll them out gradually to cars or if it’s more involved then it’s a dealer update. There’s a few other threads here on folk now getting to 3.7 but I don’t think there are really that many improveme...

Re: Just joined with a 1st Edition on order!

Love the garage/man-cave 😀. Do you have another car along with the ID.3 that you work on? The ramp/jack looks like a really neat setup you have there.

I’m not too sure on the issues you have unfortunately.

Re: ID3 or MG4

The ID.3 is great and I really like it. It does have a few quirks of course but overall it is very good I’d say. I didn’t consider the MG myself as I really don’t like the looks and it doesn’t have a good reliability record. Some of the build quality issues also look questionable too. Also from a pe...

Re: Error codes on OBD

They could just be transient issues. A timeout and a log issue doesn’t necessarily mean something is faulty, could just have been a memory quirk and or a signal interrupt of some sort. Software is often quite imperfect.

I wouldn’t worry unless it leads into something else more serious.

18 months old but has been standing for 722 days?

I guess it could have been sat for a bit before it got registered.

Re: Prospective purchase

Have had a telephone call with the dealer. The battery is at “91”. Car is 18months old and 15,000 miles. Does that sound fairly typical of the model? If that’s the Battery Health then it suggests it could have had quite a few charges to 100%. It can drop a bit in the first year as the Battery Life ...

Seems a bit odd to not run any checks when it’s been on sale since December.

Assist button opens Mode

Every so often my car decides that the Assist button is instead the Mode button i.e. I press Assist and it opens the Mode menu instead. I’ve tried cleaning it but to no avail. Also tried pressing in multiple different places but it actually seems more of a software fault. Wondering if this is a sign...

Re: Good Bye ID3!

You CAN set the car to lock when you walk away (with complementary auto unlock when you approach). I forget exactly where in the system that is done. I disabled it, as it meant every time I walked past the car if I had the key with me it went through an unlock / lock cycle. Very irritating! Is this...
