Re: 50,000 miles in 26 months - thoughts
"What App have you used over the time with the car to plan long distance journey's? I'm coming to the conclusion that ABetterRoutePlanner is really the only option" Smyth - I'm lucky that most of my journeys involve areas I know quite well - North West, south midlands and East Anglia. So ...

50,000 miles in 26 months - thoughts
I find myself 25% of the way through my durability run on an ID3. When we bought our first new car at Christmas 2020 (ID3 Life Pro), my wife approved the purchase as long as we keep it for 10 years (our Polo is 19 years old and 150,000 miles)!! The experience so far has been very positive overall - ...

Re: Tyre Wear
Just thought it was worth adding a different perspective on tyre wear. I have 19" Goodyears from new. Just completed 50,000 miles - have 3.5mm uniformly across treads on all tyres. However the shoulders on front tyres are heavily worn. Having said that wet braking and snow performance are still...

Re: Exclusions from Service Plan
I also have this service plan, but nearly got caught out by an 'upsell'. I had my first service on the plan in December at 2 years old and 46,000 miles. As has been the practise of my dealer when booking in for software changes, I received an email asking me to book in on line. I have normally done ...

Re: Tyre wear
I am assuming the regen is from the rear wheels and therefore actually the rears are going to take a hammering from both drive and braking assuming you anticipate and attempt to make the most of regen braking? Good point, missed that. Explains the characteristic perfectly - 'optimising Regen' is on...

Re: Tyre wear
Having covered 9400 miles I thought I should check my tread depth alerted on the concerns expressed above . Both fronts have 6mm remaining and rears 5.5mm (all even across the tyre) - (Goodyears) I was surprised that drive seems to be harder on the tyres than braking/steering, especially given c.70%...

Re: Tyre pressures at delivery?
This made me wonder why on earth they would be inflated so much. Clearly, it would improve the first impressions which a customer would get about the car's range. So I wonder if anybody else has seen such high pressures on their tyres at delivery? Vehicle manufacturers generally 'overinflate' tyres...

Re: Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?
It seems as though the dealers have volume targets to hit each quarter to receive incentives. They are likely to be sitting on frustrated stock because of the unforecast Government grant change and be behind VWUK expectations for Q2. Look out for deals next month, but likely to vary from dealer to d...

Re: Speed limiter
It looks like the ‘mode’ switch on lhs of steering wheel should switch between ACC and speed limiter but it just gives a haptic thump and has no effect. I struggled with this for a long time. The dealer eventually showed me that it is a swipe button, not a 'push-push'. So touch the mode button, see...

Re: Turning Off Lane Assist
What is the current NCAP rating of your Nissan? I heard that the lack of 1-touch disable was also part of why the ID.3 has 5* Good point well made Scott. It turns out the Nissan was only 4* and doesn't seem to have been rated at all for 'Safety Assistance Systems' where as the ID3 scored 88% for th...

Re: Turning Off Lane Assist
I'm sure it is NCAP who insist that the system is rest every time the vehicle turned off. However I think it is VW who have interpreted this as needing as 3 stage process to disable again. My previous Nissan reset itself each time as per the ID3, but had a 1 push physical button to disable. Once you...

Re: Intermittently unable to turn off clima control
I want to just have fresh air directed from the outside into the car with no heating or cooling (as this reduces the range). On the help screen it talks about Smart Climate - this allows fresh air to enter the vehicle. How do I select Smart Climate? ] I'm without dual zone also so have struggled wi...

Re: OMG! MPH
I think the move to EV's is creating a new trend of 'Silver-Top boy racers'. Until I got my ID3 I certainly haven't had as a much fun since my first drive in a Dolomite Sprint in 1978! (RWD, amazing acceleration, unremarkable Vmax) But of course the ID3 isn't about to blow a head gasket and bring th...

Re: Speed limits on minor roads
I'm experiencing the same issue on 2.1 (can't remember it happening before on2.0). It is not on all stretches of 'B' roads probably 50-50% of locations., but it is consistent ie drops down to 30 mph at the same place on the same 'B' roads. Also had this - dropping to 20 mph in 30mph built up areas a...

Re: Fresh air setting
Opening the windows does have a significant negative effect on Aerodynamic drag, especially in a cross wind. The more efficient the basic shape of the car (eg ID3!), the greater the detrimental effect of open windows. Below 50 mph this won't have a marked effect, but on the open road it becomes anot...

Re: Fresh air setting
I have found the closest I can get to 'Fresh air' is recirc off with temperature set on "lo", fan on minimum, A/C symbol off; I then set just illuminate the screen symbol if preventing slight misting of windscreen or face to get fresh air bleed to occupants. This combination has a very low...

Re: Ride Comfort and anti-roll bars
This shows the front anti Rollbar running behind the front wheel centreline. I don't think you would be able to see it under the car. Makes sense with 50:50 weight balance that stringing and roll control would be roughly the same front and rear. Having said that this isn't exactly ID3 because the Ch...
