Re: Charging failures following recent WeCharge OTA updates

I have had a Wallbox pulsar plus on my ID3 for the last 18 months. I think something is wrong with how yours has worked if you ‘ plug the cable into the car. The light beside the CCS socket flashes white for a short while & then turns solid red’. It shouldn’t go red. What happens on you Wallbox...

Re: Charging failures following recent WeCharge OTA updates

Exactly the same behaviour here. Same car and charger here. Until 2 nights ago off-peak charging worked a charm. Now it has stopped working. The id3 shows “battery not ready” in the vw app. The wallbox is sat there waiting to begin it’s scheduled charge at 00:30. Did you find a solution? I’m losing ...

Re: Tyre wear

My ID3 EATS tyres. It is shocking. From delivery (brand new) the first set of factory-fitted (Bridgestones) tyres barely lasted 6 months. Yes 6 months. So much for the gentle daily school runs providing super-long tyre life.. The car is now 2.5 years old and the second set of tyres (Goodyears) have ...

Re: Tyre recommendations

I am also after recommendations as the original rear Bridgestones only lasted 7500 miles on my ID3. Dealer marked them down as “red - worn down - replace immediately” on a vehicle check report. I was astonished. They could not explain why the rear tyres lasted barely half a year. Certainly not due t...

Ignore those lights! I’ve decided to fit lanterns front and back. Anyone got any matches?!

Re: Unable to display speed

Same here. Just this morning the drivers screen (the one behind steering wheel) announced it was malfunctioning and I had to continue my entire with no working speedometer as there was nowhere to safely stop (which is technically illegal).

Off to the VW workshop…

Re: Tyre wear

Similar issue here. ID3 Life Pro delivered new in February '21. During a mirror repair in August my local VW workshop marked the two rear tyres as red "Immediate Action Required" on their report - the rear tyres need replacing now. After 7500 miles and barely 6 months of school runs!! I fo...

Re: My favourite error message so far

Strange! My ID3 has a male voice! And it is indeed useless in every way. Most responses are simply the word "Sorry" which pretty much sums up the VW voice control experience. We gave up on it. Apple Siri on the other hand works flawlessly. I keep meaning to transcribe our attempts at using...

Re: Pre-Purchase Help Requested

I don't know if you resolved this or not. But your ID3 has the same fault as mine did. My local VW workshop finally fixed it in the spring at the same time as doing the 2.1 upgrade. I ultimately stirred VW into action by emailing weconnect-support@volkswagen.de to report the fault and had a back and...

Re: System defaults

Also finding lane assist very annoying living in a rural location. Regardless of who is driving, the car is frequently pinging us (audible and with message on dash) suggesting we're too close to the verge on the left (we are not - the roads are plain just narrow, with no markings anywhere, and soft ...

I did not choose the maintenance either. I felt there's a lot less to go wrong (famous last words).

Re: Pre-Purchase Help Requested

When delivered at the beginning of 2021 my ID3 was the same - Pre-conditioning using the app only worked when the car was plugged in. After having the software updated I can now reliably precondition anywhere using the app (as long as there is mobile coverage!). I would check the version of your car...

Re: Thud sound at low speed ?

I’ve noticed a quiet thud occasionally but it’s the heater kicking in. But I think it comes from the front of the car. Not noticed any other sounds related to ACC.

Could this explain it?

If only that were true in the UK where our electricity generation mix is 40% from burning fossil fuels, mainly gas. Glad it’s very slowly improving with all the renewable investment.

Re: WeConnect app

Has anyone successfully used the We Connect app to precondition the ID3? My We Connect account is set-up fine and the app reliably connects - it shows range and charge status correctly. But the heating/cooling has never worked - three different errors are shown on iPhone depending on... sun spot act...

Re: What a nice car!

Great post. I concur with your VW dealership salesperson observation; many seem to be absolutely clueless about the product. I suspect VW sacrificed the staff training and preparation, as with the software readiness, in order to just get product out there come hell or high water. >>plenty of rapid c...

Re: ME2.0 update cancelled

The availability of these software updates seems very spotty. Surprisingly my local dealer routinely updated my ID3 to 0784 yesterday without a murmur. I say routinely, it was primarily an attempt to solve the alarm going off randomly in the night. So far so good. -The on-screen home key is now on t...

Many thanks for the tips. My ID.3 is currently taking its first holiday to the local VW workshop to sort out the alarm issue (and an update from 0564 to 0783, if they can figure it out..)

Car alarm went off at 5am

Oh joy. The new ID3 decided to wake everyone up this morning at 5:05. It was locked normally and plugged in at the time. Absolutely nobody around (the house motion lights were all off. Rural location). Slightly breezy, wet weather. Is this going to be a regular occurrence I wonder ... has anyone els...
