Re: Vehicle information screen unprompted data re-set
Thanks for the reply G43FAN. My mileage when the "re-set" occurred was in the range of 6000 to 6500 miles (didn't make a note of the mileage and don't know exactly when I first noticed the "discrepancy"). Certainly a 9999km re-set sound plausible, thanks for the input, puzzle ove...

Vehicle information screen unprompted data re-set
I'm not by my car at the moment so apologies if this posting seems a bit vague. Basically I usually have the "Vehicle Display Screen" set to indicate Journey data, ie, the Display that has three Miles/Kwh (et al) options, ie, Current journey, Long Term, Since Charging (I'll check my descri...

VWUK and owners who ordered a Heat Pump with their ID3
Some time ago there were various discussions revolving around Heat Pump effectiveness and whether or not it was worthwhile including one with your order due to the price vs advantage trade off. As part of those discussions some Forum members intimated that VWUK might offer a partial refund to ID3 he...

Software update query
I took delivery of my ID3 Life Pro Performance early August 2021 and since then haven't heard anything at all from VW regarding software updates (or indeed anything at all). I don't know if the car comes with OTA updates or not as a manufacturer's "built in" facility, but either way whilst...

Re: Aftermarket Reversing Camera Installation
Thanks for the reply JohnEG. Following your original posting I contacted the Dealership in question and they forwarded details of the third part installer that they used. However, I was not able to make contact with them as their number is "unobtainable" and there is no Web Site listed for...

Re: Aftermarket Reversing Camera Installation
I've tried various Dealerships (both locally and further afield) and tried a Web searche with little success, so am throwing the question back to the field. If you've had a Reversing Camera fitted by a VW Dealership is it possible to know which one (and approximate cost) so's I can make a few phone ...

Aftermarket Reversing Camera Installation
I'm after information re a retrofit Reversing Camera installation, either by a VW dealership or an independent. I've been in touch with my local dealership who have informed me that it's not available through VW, but from previous postings on this Forum some of the readership believe that it is inde...

Re: Does the ID3 have a speed limit warning alarm sounder ?
Thanks for the reply. I've now set up a visual and audio alarm to indicate when I cross the "speed threshold", but it's only a single tone at crossover point. Is there any way to get a continuous warble when exceeding the speed limit as being hard of hearing I often miss the momentary tone...

Does the ID3 have a speed limit warning alarm sounder ?
There's been a bit of a revamp of the speed limits in my surrounding area and a couple of times I've inadvertently driven at the old speed limit rather than the new one. Is there a way of making my ID3 emit a warning tone if I do this again or would I have to use a third party Sat Nav system for thi...

Will an AWD version of the ID3 ever become available ?
I've noticed that VW have AWD versions of the ID3s Siblings (which I presume use the same underlying chassis and drive works), does anyone out there think (or maybe even know definitely one way or the other) whether or not VW might at some point in the future offer an ID3 with AWD ? I ask because I ...

Re: Battery heating
As an aside, is there a straightforward way for a numpty like me to find out at what temperature the Battery Heating kicks in at ? For instance is it included in any user accessible vehicle display data set or "inferred" by knowing what software version the car has installed ? Either way, ...

Is it possible to have a Reversing Camera fitted post delivery ?
I've never driven a car which has a Reversing Camera fitted, but it seems a useful aid for someone like me who has limited neck movement due to spinal problems. The reversing display fitted as standard allows me to get off my drive ok without flattening the front hedge but would the Camera facility ...

Re: How to fit a Dash Cam to an ID3
Is it the case that the rear USB C sockets are ignition controlled as it doesn't appear to be the case with the front ones according to my Dash cam. If so, using the rear sockets makes life a bit simpler for me.

Re: How to fit a Dash Cam to an ID3
Thanks for the replies to date. I've brought a USB adapter and tried the USB C sockets and whilst there's a 12V supply available via them, on my car it doesn't appear to be switched and it looks like I'd need to insert and remove the Dash Cam USB lead every time that I use the car. It's not too much...

How to fit a Dash Cam to an ID3
I've just taken receipt of an ID3 Pro Life but can't obviously see where to pick the power supply up for my Nextbase Dash Cam. Either a 12V "Cigarette Lighter" or a standard USB fitting would be fine but I can only see the 12V fitting in the Boot area but no USB Ports in the passenger area...

Type 1 charging unit adapter cable availability
I'm asking this question here in the hope that others reading this posting might know the answer to my question : my Wall Charging was last used for charging an Ampera that I had until a couple of years ago and it's not compatible with the ID3. Are there cables available that will plug into the char...

Inclement weather VW ID3 queries prior to purchase, et al
Hi there everyone. I'm a bit of a fraud really as I don't own an ID3 as of yet but am in the process of pulling quotes together as part of the process of considering my options in that direction. I've previously owned two EV's, a Mitsubishi iMEV and a Vauxhall Ampera, and have been impressed with th...
