Re: Cornering Light Message Fault
this seems to be a generic problem. Ours was booked in for service but before this it suddenly did odd "things" as listed to the service dept.: 3. Rear light cluster passenger side Plastic under bit fallen off 4. Misting in both head lights 8th Nov 2022 photos below 5. Faulty key fob – man...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight
Noticed after some heavy rain nothing too significant but certainly in my mind should not be there!

Safety Fail. driver side door open and car moves off
While sitting in the driver's seat with the door open and if you then select DRIVE the brake is released by software without manual input and the vehicle moves off slowly WITHOUT touching the accelerator. The ID3 went in for 12volt battery replacement and software update. We were told that this feat...

Charging with granny charger in hot weather
During this summers the hot weather the granny charger was left in the sun while it was charging the ID3. Because of solar heating the charger would only charge at about 1.5kW. No real problem as it is simply self-protecting and shade fixes it. Just a mention in case others are not aware.

Re: Cracked Windscreen
ID3 screen cracked noticeably (about 1 cm) a few months ago. did not really seem to have a strike point (perhaps an almost invisible dot between the wiper rubber and the wiper metal!). Called autoglass and was told they have to have vehicle for a few hours to Align cameras etc, but they had no stock...

on route charging pathetic
Not sure this is quite the right place but... We had a 200 mile journey across country. In a ID3 not really necessary to charge but wanted to arrive at destination and then back home with a reasonable charge. On the outbound leg we first tried a couple of Ionity chargers at Cambridge services follow...

mile/kWh "feature" Buggy ID3 software
had SW updated to latest version after 1 week at dealer. Many features given to them to fix. Most seem to be but here is a fun buglet. (inconsequential) Find a nice hill down. at the top reset the short term info (since start) as regeneration occurs just watch the miles/kWh go loopy. Takes time and ...

Re: Totally dead
the vehicle battery is around 400 volts fully charged. they would need a medium power convertor to reduce this voltage down to the 12 volts/3volts/5volts to run the electronics and lights. This may introduce failures as 400volts is/was a tricky voltage for most commercial electronics. And perhaps mo...

Re: 12v battery life
I posted this elsewhere on this BB Had to call the AA/VW out to a totally dead vehicle sitting on drive for 1.5 days unused. I measured a voltage of 2.94 volts on the 12 volt battery whilst in our drive. To allow the battery to fall to this level is never advised – as an electronic design engineer, ...

Re: Totally dead
I measured a voltage of 2.94 volts on the 12 volt battery whilst in our drive. To allow the battery to fall to this level is never advised – as an electronic design engineer, I cannot conceive how there was not a low voltage shut down in the discharge path electronics long before this voltage was re...
