Re: error message, error drive system please visit workshop

I can’t really add much other than say I had it frequently

The annoying thing was that the car never seemed to log the fault. The VW master tech actually saw the fault himself, checked the logs and nothing showed. He escalated everything to VW, but I’m not aware of any real explanation.

Re: Newbie about to order?

It’s basically a good car, but one not without its problems. Mine started playing up on the day of delivery, they had it for 2 weeks and couldn’t fix it, even VW Germany ran out of ideas. It’s been rejected, got my money back. When I dropped the loan car off earlier this week, they said it still was...

Re: Car won’t start and strange symbol

I think there’s a few threads on other forums about this

From what I remember, it usually clears itself when car is left locked for a period of time. I’ve also read that in some cases it needs fixing by the workshop - vehicle recovery

Re: VW ID Configuration down

From what I can see, prices seem to have come down, especially on the higher models. I also noticed additional equipment on some models

Re: Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?

I note you mentioned you do a lot of seat fiddling. Just be aware that the ID3 power seats aren’t memory. They are good, but will still require manual manipulation

Re: ? 2.1 Partially Installed

Mine took 6 weeks to fix after 2.1

Since then it’s never been right - they had it a full day a couple of weeks ago (couldn’t sort) and it’s been with them a week so far on it last visit (still there)

You can get those seats (without the green) on the id3 in other markets - they are called top sport

Re: Keyless entry

Mine never unlocks with handle and sometimes locks.

Dealer had it for a day a few weeks ago and couldn’t fix - they’ve got it again, had since Thu, so now 5 days. As it stands problem still not resolved.

Re: Front Assist Unavailable & Proactive Occupant Protection System Restricted

I’ve seen both, but not recently. In my case they both cleared after a restart. I remember mentioning to the dealer, but other than a suggestion that sensors may be obstructed, he hadn’t any other ideas. As they cleared after a restart, I don’t think it was sensors - I put it down to another weird s...

Re: Can’t select gear

It’s been mentioned a few times on another forum. In mist cases, as you discovered, it seems to reset. There have however been a few instances were the cars had to be recovered.

Mine works well, occasionally it seems reluctant to start wiping, but I find moving the stalk to off and then back to auto, usually sorts it out

Re: ID 3 life pro performance fob key problems.

Some ID3’s seem to be problems, many others appear OK. There doesn’t seem to be any logic in which cars play up and which don’t. From what I’m being told, VW don’t seem to be treating these type is issues as priority. My car is going in again this week, I’ll be giving them 7 days to resolve, otherwi...

Re: Style v Tech

If you’re only doing short journeys, the extra expense of the tech may be overkill. The HUD us very nice, but not essential. One of the other differences is rear speakers, the tech has them, the others don’t.

Re: ID 3 life pro performance fob key problems.

I’ve also got key fob problems, had them since collecting car 2 weeks ago. Dealer has worked on car for 6 hours, but can’t uncover the problem - they work sometimes, not others, opening using the handle never works, locking with handle works about 50% of the time. All I can suggest is speak to your ...

Re: New delivery: Rattle sound

I’ve got a Max and despite all it’s other problems, it doesn’t have any rattles. When it behaves it’s a great car to drive, in my opinion the dynamic suspension and different steering setup, make a massive difference. I base this on having driven a first edition for 2 months, prior to getting the Ma...
