Re: Erratic Window Winding
This worked for me. I found a YouTube video which advised the opening and holding for 5 seconds and then closing and holding the button for 5 seconds - it didn’t work however the holding the button closed for 5 seconds and holding again closed for 5 seconds reset and fixed the issue.

Re: VW ID.3 Roof Bars
What's the right size we should be going for? Is it 120cm? Ask VW? Oh wait they will tell you you can't put roof bars on the car. Ask someone wo's trying to sell you roof bars that has no responsibility for any issues that arise after selling you bars that fit but shouldn't be used? Kinda why i'm p...

Re: Id3 fastest charge so far
What’s the best way of determining charge speeds? Xan the car or We Connect app show you? I’m always curious what it’s actually charging at when I’m on a 50kw or 100kw charger.

Re: OTA Update just occured!
Hmm, Did you get that screen after you hit “yes” to initiate the download? Would have been helpful to have seen that prior to either selecting ‘yes’ or ‘no’

Re: ID3 Software Update v2.3
I received a message when driving earlier that my update was ready and did I want to install. I declined as where I was driving meant I was stopping for an hour, then a second stop for an hour before returning home. As I understand it the update begins when you stop and park the car after you’ve acc...

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I’ll try some polish and see how that goes.

Re: Paint work: how’s it holding up?
I’ve heard WD40 can help in removing the stains, anyone had experience with using it to remove the leftover marks?

Paint work: how’s it holding up?
Got hit by a few seagulls about 4 days ago, just went to wash it off (despite having some torrential downpours the last couple of days) and it’s left some pretty stubborn marks.
I’ve used hot soapy water and a microfibre towel but you can see the stains quite clearly!

Re: Rear drum brakes - why?
Has anyone noticed a slight creaking when braking and moving from Auto Hold? I feel like I’m only hearing it when in B mode, just as I’m coming to a stop using the brake or pulling away from Auto Hold. I feel like it’s the drum brakes as opposed to the front discs. Same on the Golf, both on Auto Ho...

Just to check - when you say “release” do you mean it just unlocks or actually opens the boot fully?

Re: 12V socket in the boot
My point was what good is it if you can power it on unless you’re sitting in the driver’s seat (not what you can do with a 12V socket) but scott28tt clarified you can simply hit the start button and it works.

Re: 12V socket in the boot
Forgive my ignorance but what use is the socket in the boot if you can’t use it when you’re a sole driver with no one to sit in the front seat?
