Re: ID3 and 3.0 software update Battery Life

Not sure if I’m reading this correctly just went and checked my car , have had my life pro for three weeks infotainment screen says software 3.0.0 . This is all new to me so I don’t know if it’s better or worse . Your car was built with the 3.0 software that everyone who's had their ID3 a while is ...

Re: ID3 and 3.0 software update Battery Life

3.0 on my Born is nothing to write home about vs 2.3 I had on my ID3. It was marginally quicker to boot up when I got my Born and then slowed downas soonasI registered the car with the app and battry temperature management doesn't seem to have appreciably improved efficiencies at lower temps (less ...

Re: Bridgestone Turanza Eco 215/55R18 95T (B-Seal)?

I'm amazed they're swapping 18" alloys to 19" wheels that cost about £700 more rather than either fobbing you off, or buying you a bottle of gunk and a pump.

Re: Delivery time

I'm just wondering about the other cars coming out of the factory. Eg, the Cupra Born. Considering most of us ordered before the Cupra was even available, surely that would mean Cupras wouldn't be built until 2023. But in reality, what has maybe happened is that there is a cut off point where they ...

Re: Speed limit incorrect

It's not unique to VW, my Mazda will be set to 60mph on the local A75 and then flag up it's 40mph, but we are not a lorry! Thankfully it isn't smart enough to do anything about it but flag it up. It picks up most speed signs, even if it is not for the road you are on!! My Born flagged the speed lim...

Re: Inadequate Wiping on Auto Wipers

New windscreen should be under warranty - there's nothing you've fine to that, it's a manudacturing defect - so take it to the dealership rather than going through the windscreen coverage on uiur insurance.

Re: Inadequate Wiping on Auto Wipers

I use rain-X on my windscreen and my auto wipers work properly - it's completely transparent (as I assume all rain repellents will be), so the rain sensor should work fine with it on.

If it’s every year, doesn’t the ID3 have 2 year servicing intervals?
Some people would change these annually, on some cars. VW doesn't require you to.

Re: New Tiguan Rline

Hi to the ID.3 family, I've ordered a 2022 Tiguan in September 2021 and was told the build time would be week 16 of 2022. Closer to week 16 it moved to week 34, as the War in Russia/Ukraine was the excuse. Today I'm told that build time is moved to week 02 of 2023. I don't know what to think about ...

Re: Service plans

Just to let you know I have just been advised that my ID.3 is ready to be collected after 2.4 update (took them 3.5 days). The lady who called me mentioned service plan that includes 1 x servicing, 1 x MOT, 1 x pollen filter change and 1 x brake fluid change but she said is will be £199. So not sur...

Might be worth rotating fronts to backs soon to even out that wear, if you font mind paying for 4 tyres at once.

Re: Winter tyres on the id.3

Thanks MH - I have been meaning to go for winters for years and having the steelies on my car makes it an easier proposition. The question was really about how the id.3 differs from other rear wheel drive cars in winter conditions as I understand the motor is rear mounted so may not have some of th...

Re: Winter tyres on the id.3

Depends where you live - if you get a lot of snow and ice, and access is a bit iffy, you might want the reassurance. Never felt theneed myself. The ID3 is very stable for RWD.

Re: Is now the time to pull the trigger on an ID3 order?

There is no penalty for not taking the PCP because there is no incentive with the VW PCP at the moment! I picked up a cancelled order last week - so there are cars out there (spotted it on Autotrader while checking used prices). I also got a free pen. Hope you don't mind me asking ... can you tell ...

Re: Plastic rattle rear passenger side (exterior)

Have a look at your wheel arch liners or aero trays under the car if you're sure it's external. Could also be a loose latching of the boot lid, but I'd expect water ingress in the boot if it were that.

Re: Is now the time to pull the trigger on an ID3 order?

It would be a bold dealership that would guarantee a p/x price for 6-12 months, unless it was seriously lower than current used price. Even with immediate delivery, their p/x prices are very low vs the likes of Motorway - my Wife's ID3 Family fetched £38200 on Motorway, SMC Woking (the supplying dea...
