Re: Car won’t start and strange symbol

Hate to ask a stupid question, is your foot on the brake when you select a gear? A couple of people have suggested the best things. Reset infotainment by holding down thr power until the VW logo comes up. Leave the key in the cupholder on the key symbol while doing it. Your key isn't in an RFID wall...

Warning lights, then disappeared.

So yesterday was a bit rubbish. Get in my car, red warning triangle, says should drive carefully as warnings are disabled. Drove few minutes down the road, parked up, got back in. Warnings gone. Hour later, same warning. Got back, warning gone. Read manual, said I should not drive the car. Spoke to ...

Re: Summer Range - How is everyone getting on?

I think the most indicative journey was last week. I drove from Banbury to Central London (77 miles), so mostly motorway then traffic for 15 miles. Then to south east London, back to central London and then home. Didn't exceed 70 with ACC, spent 6 hours in the car and averaged 4.1. Left with 97% bat...

Re: Advice re charging for newbie to the EV world

When you say drained the battery quite rapidly on the journey, on the charging screen, under data, what is your miles per kW? On a motorway with the air conditioning on, I would expect somewhere between 3 and 4. If you drive sensibly around 65-70 mph you can get nearly 4. If you drive at 80mph it wi...

Re: How long does Pod Point take to schedule installation

Mine was installed three days after I ordered it, they called me the day after and said someone else cancelled. However... everything works perfectly but I questioned the noise that was coming from it (there's a small black box which I think monitors current, it's very chattery) and they said someon...

Re: Can you use IPOD Classic in ID.3?

I've already given my opinion. It seems to recognise phones etc as media, in theory I can't see why it doesn't work. I don't have one so can't really give an opinion. The only thing I can think of trying myself to replicate is plugging in an sd card using a card reader and seeing whether or not thay...

Re: Tyre pressures at delivery?

Yes mine was at 40 instead of the recommended 36. It will actually give you slightly better mileage (minimal) but worse handling.

Re: Range indicator confusion

Yes - it is only indicative, which is not wholly satisfactory. But a huge number of variables (which are in the future and not entirely predictable) go into the actual mileage you’ll extract from a charge so an exact figure is not actually possible. In the same way that smartphones show battery per...

Re: Recommend home charger

Yes I heard a lot of good things about Zappi, especially if you have solar. Only downside is you have to leave your car plugged in all the time, as the charger will decide to divert power to the car when you have excess energy (typically during the day).

Re: Range indicator confusion

If you turn the heating on and off, you will notice how much that affects it. So you may have got into it with the range, the heating kicked on and then it took the heating into account and dropped the range. I don't think it will be the ambient temperature changing, as it will know that when you tu...
