Re: Newbie from Dundee
Welcome pondsman! CPS is also free in Blairgowrie and possibly still free across Perth and Kinross county. I use their RFID card. Although the chargers they manage can be as unreliable as any, I’ve found their phone response quick and helpful.

Re: Solar Panels
Interesting - I just enquired about a battery to a very experienced and reputable source. Here’s his reply (and he could easily have taken my money!) - “It depends what you are exporting to the grid really. Lets just say you are exporting 25% so around 800 units, so you are losing our on £200 of ene...

Re: All Season Tyres
In the light of a previous post, I went for Continental All Seasons (19”) on my Beezer 1st Edition. Couldn’t give a damn about noise or lower mileage; if you want more traction and therefore security in general UK weather, it’s a no-brainer. However, I do believe they’re a tad quieter, but just had ...

Ionity chargers
Just a snippet of Ionity info. As 1st Ed owner I still get the charge free and use the 4 chargers at Gretna services on journeys from Perthshire to South Wales to see grandchildren. This time all 4 were in use but ID4 just finishing. Message on screen unusual “Please replace plug in holder to end yo...

Re: Battery usage on journays
I disagree. Range anxiety is always an issue - or at least “Public charger anxiety”. Travelling to South Wales from Perthshire yesterday with 3 granddaughters in the back, arrived at Gretna - 4 Ionity rapids - 3 in use and one being fixed. 20 minute wait and then 80% charge. Second charge at Legh Ar...

Re: Finding the right deal
This little thread has sent me to my pcp documents. Thinking about just paying it off, but the final payment or balloon payment or Guaranteed Final Value (buy back car) of £14,700 seems pretty low and therefore a bit of a bargain? It’s a 4 year deal paying back £27000. Total Amount Payable is £32600...

I’m still on 1.16 - is this supposed to be an automatic upgrade or do I have to do something?

Re: Cannot engage drive or reverse
That’s reassuring to read. My 1st Edition is behaving himself much better as we await the replacement drive unit! (Currently glamping in Kinloch Rannoch for a few days).

Re: Car won’t start and strange symbol
I’ve posted already about this. Try just leaving the key in the cup well for a while preferably with the ignition on; then try again. My 1st Edition has never failed to start after the drive refusing to engage, but the VW dealer has ordered a replacement drive rocker unit after finally diagnosing a ...

Re: Windscreen washers
This may explain, I don’t know, but when I had the car checked by VW last week they mentioned that they’d have to recall their ID.3s soon because a windscreen-washer issue had been identified.

Re: Cannot engage drive or reverse
Thursday visit to VW dealership came up blank after diagnostic test - the error message not even logged it seems. Drive system fault happened 2or 3 times over the weekend so I called again. After me objecting to their offer to keep the car and give me an ICE courtesy we agreed that I could have the ...

Re: Error Drive system
Car being exchanged with the salesman’s ID3 tomorrow so that they can get a better grasp of what’s going on - after I complained about being offered an ICE courtesy car! Diagnostics found no record of the Error Drive System message on my car. Bit worrying!

Re: Error Drive system
VW garage couldn’t find any faults with my drive system. I’ve had the fault three times since yesterday! Something is definitely wrong - the emergency brake assist white light remains on when this happens, with the same amber warning up by the SOS pod. Anyone else?

Re: Error Drive system
Just posted under a linked thread that my 1st Edition is going in tomorrow after several no-gear tantrums. Got going quite quickly I have to say but amber warning has told me to take it to the workshop. Loads about this issue on EU ID3 Owners page/site.
