Re: Sold back my ID.3 after a year
I did use to charge it to 100% quite often, and especially before a longish trip. I obviously don’t have the manual anymore, but it states for optimal battery health to only charge to 80% (unless you’re going to do a long trip) and not let it go below 40% in cold conditions. It’s winter just now in...

Re: Sold back my ID.3 after a year
3) In the cold weather for battery maintenance it suggests not letting the charge drop below 40% and not to charge it to 100% the majority go the time. This equates to about a 72 mile range in the winter for me. I don't understand this. There's no reason not to charge to 100% if you use the car soo...

Re: Sold back my ID.3 after a year
Ha ha. Yes, because the demand for these cars is high, I got back almost what I’d paid for it over the year, so happy with that. Think it’s being retailed on the used market for more than I paid for it at the start!

Sold back my ID.3 after a year
So.....I must be one of very few people that have handed back their EV and exchanged it for an ICE. Reasons behind this. 1) I live in North rural Scotland but often travel to the central belt and the range was insufficient, and the charging infrastructure north of the central belt of Scotland is cur...

Re: Winter road handling.
Live in NE Scotland and just failed to get out of my shallow snow covered drive. Wheels spinning. Time to look for winter tyres, or time to decide its just a city car......

Re: Intermittently unable to turn off clima control
Doing it in the car as the Weconnect app is as much use as a chocolate teapot. It just tells me what the charge level is and fails to synchronise for anything else, so have given up on it.

Intermittently unable to turn off clima control
Anyone else had this? The car had its software upgrade at the end of April and then it was recalled for some other update on the AC system that took 30 mins. Since then intermittently I can’t switch off the clima control. The on/off button goes black, but the AC keeps running with the fan and frost ...

Re: How long does version 2.0 upgrade take?
Ah, thanks. If not ready tomorrow then I’ll see if I can get a courtesy car in case I fall into the unlucky category. It may be the garage’s first upgrade as it’s in Elgin, so can’t imagine they see many of these cars.....

How long does version 2.0 upgrade take?
Quick query for those that have already had the version 2 upgrade. How long does it usually take? My VW garage started on Tuesday morning and apparently it’s unlikely to be ready til tomorrow (Thursday) is that normal? 2+ days? Wish I’d actually asked for a courtesy car now....

Re: Totally dead
Yes, on version 0564. Just dropped the car off at the garage for its software upgrade after roadside recovery got me going with a wee 12V boost. Will see if the upgrade makes any difference..... Amazing number of errors after the 12V boost-would make you terrified to actually drive it if I hadn't re...

Re: Totally dead
Deep joy! I have joined the totally dead 12V battery club.....The day before it was due to go in for its first software upgrade. Currently awaiting roadside assistance. I had charged it up to 90% yesterday afternoon, and not sure why it should be dead. Interestingly, if I am in the car when its char...
