Re: Distance forecast

I’m not saying it shouldn’t. But obviously there are options like: length of time to look back, weighting near measures more, adjusting window length using forecast volatility, forecasting based on an internal model of key variables that match current conditions , having an internal mode that adjust...

Distance forecast

We’re on a long drive through France, wind against us, and the in-car forecast is totally wrong. Seems to be based on average consumption from several hours of driving, not today’s conditions. Is there public info on how the forecast works? Does resetting the “since start” data stats affect the fore...

Re: Car unlocked itsef

We don’t have proximity unlock and have had the car since last summer without seeing this. Neither of us had our keys on us, so it’s not a ‘trouser pocket click’. We always unlock either by clicking button or passing hand past the handle sensor (but here we were indoors, saw car through window). The...

Car unlocked itsef

Our keys were hung up. Our car spontaneously unlocked.

We noticed the neighbours had just got into their new Volvo, but not sure yet if it is coincidence.

Anyone aware of issues in this space?

Re: Keep car plugged in when at home?

The main drivers for when to charge seem to be - ahead of known journeys that will need it - maintaining optimal battery health The first one seems individual. For the second I suspect always charging would somehow be bad but not sure. For us we tend to be 40% to 80% at all times, and 100% overnight...

Re: Range declining with cooler temperatures

With an ICE typically your range is much greater than distance to any garage, and 20% consumption rate differences aren’t so material. I drive with a map on (usually apple maps so I get some head-up display directions overlay) and don’t want to be digging in to the data screen to see why the promine...

Re: Range declining with cooler temperatures

Battery capacity is lower at lower temperatures, and you're also having higher loads such as headlamps and heating. The range indicator can be misleading and seems to be based on recent performance rather than a theoretical range (which is good in a way). You may also see the remaining range "...

Re: Range degradation

Agree my first winter with an EV and the range hit is more than I expected luckily winter range still covers my usually mileage just about. I can see why some EV drivers have an ice 2nd car for winter. Same! Interesting experience driving yesterday with kids in blankets at the back, minimal use of ...

Re: Access to detailed data?

That’s a shame. They aren’t up to speed on their app. Opening up data and APIs would allow amazing stuff to be built.

Access to detailed data?

Our range plummeted in yesterday’s cold, and would love detailed data on historic consumption vs mileage (and could then extrapolate eg consumption vs speed) and in ideal world things like aircon energy consumption at different temps and speed. Is that kept locked away? Or is there a clever way to d...

Re: Car infotainment system shut down whilst driving

Had this and full shutdown, lock, unlock didn’t fix. No reverse cameras etc. Started again when got home.

Can VW remotely view logs and investigate? There must be a process to have this debugged and fixed.

Re: Slightly dangerous emergency breaking

To earlier comments - not quite emergency breaking, more sharp breaking - also happens when passing parked car but doesn’t happen if you have indicator on as you ‘overtake’ - I don’t want to switch off emergency alerting, but not have it cause an accident when passing car turning right, or parked ca...

Slightly dangerous emergency breaking

I absolutely love the car and we use it all the time for travel distances short and far. Everything about it has been a pleasure. The one issue that we have had is unwanted emergency breaking, For example when staying in lane at about 60 miles an hour going past a car that was turning right, I.E.the...

Re: Charge cable unlocking with delayed re-charge

Actually we realised that the connection LED has been going RED before after we hook up, and it's disconnected after that. I think the LED goes off after a while - we now watch it go through the connection cycle and fail. We can re-charge fine if we don't put in a delay, but now we're no longer able...

Re: Charge cable unlocking with delayed re-charge

So this isn’t fixed but it is sporadic. I suspect a software issue in communication between car and PodPoint, esp if this delay feature is new.

Jumpy hill starts? Can you inch fwd slowly?

Reversing into a tight spot on a hill: each time I went from D to R the break would stay on even with light touch on accelerator. Pressing more eventually car moved but quite fast, and given the small space I had to be quick on the break, and didn’t have time to be delicate. Happened both backwards ...

Charge cable unlocking with delayed re-charge

We have just installed a PodPoint charger and set it up so that it charges near midnight when we have a cheap rate. When we plug the charger into the car it locks correctly, but if we check it again after 20 or so minutes you can simply pull the charger out. The car is locked of course. That means s...
