Re: end of PCP/ missing items query

Thanks for your replies. It is the type 2 cable, not a granny charger.

end of PCP/ missing items query

Good morning all I bought my ID3 Pro Performance in April 2021 on a 3-year PCP deal. I've decided to hand the car back rather than take the other options. As part of the inspection for damage etc, there is a charge for missing items. VWFS want to charge £354 for a missing charging lead, which they i...

Re: Dealers and 3.0 software

My ID3 went in for a service last week. They didn't let me know in advance that they were planning to install the update. They kept the car for 2 days and the update failed. Mine wasn't the only one - all the cars that they've tried to update recently have failed to do so. They've now referred the m...

Re: Andersen charger problems

thanks for the replies. I did get the grant at the time and Andersen fitted it. Thanks for the reminder about their obligations as far as the 3-year warranty is concerned.

Andersen charger problems

Hi I'm posting this here because I haven't come across an Andersen users forum yet. I have an ongoing issue and am wondering if any other Andersen users have had similar problems. First of all, I live in a conservation area and there are rules about what you can and can't put on the front of your ho...

Re: Newbie and worried about the bugs

Understandable. I've had mine for almost a year now. It's been a mainly positive experience and I'm glad I bought it. A couple of bugs - one requiring a visit to the workshop. I bought one of the very first iMacs and for a very long time I was the only person I knew who had one. I'm not particularly...

Re: Dwindling battery!

Lesley

Battery range will tend to decrease in colder weather. (It's the same with my electric bike battery). It's not a fault as such - more of an inconvenience.

Re: another electric drive problem

Finally got the car back today. They also sorted out a problem we had with the aircon - which may have been related to the pump failure. In the grand scheme of things it's been a relatively minor inconvenience - they had a hire care ready for us soon as ours was on the breakdown truck, so we've not ...

Re: another electric drive problem

Thanks. Yes - disappointing, but not the end of the world. And if it is just the pump, then it should be a simple swap?

The real downside, apart from having to buy petrol again, is the smug, knowing, 'I told you so', looks from my neighbours. Ours is the only ev in the road.

Re: another electric drive problem

Update; confirmed as battery coolant pump failure. No spares in the UK so have to wait for one from Germany.

I notice that this issue comes up on other forums - particularly in respect of the ID.4.

Yes, I do. Not got a rack yet though.

Had an Altura Strada on my old car. Very nice rack, easy to mount and the tilt down mechanism was a bonus. Now looking at a Buzzrack Scorpion for my eBike.

Re: another electric drive problem

I'm happy that they arranged collection and a replacement vehicle quickly enough. I called VW Assist and an AA van turned up 2 hours later. Not a problem as I was at home all day anyway. He scratched his head, said 'no idea' and called for a recovery truck. I asked about a replacement car, he made a...

another electric drive problem

Hi all Yesterday my ID.3 suddenly displayed 'electric drive not working correctly. Please visit workshop'. with all icons red. I did just that and it appears to be a fault with the HT battery. (That's as much of the technicalities that I understood). I was advised to drive home carefully and call VW...

Re: Home chargers with public use

As Scott mentions, the Co Charger App looks interesting. I live in a small development of 9 houses and only 2 of them have suitable places for an external charger. A few of my neighbours would like to move to an EV but worry about the difficulty of home charging, so I might consider something like C...

Retired, moved to a town, wanted one car instead of two and we like the idea of electric cars.

Why the ID.3 in particular? The rear bike carrier.
