Re: Audio CDs
Just given this a try using an external USB CD drive. The car detected and recognised the CD drive and you could insert and eject CD’s. The bad news is that when you go into Media to play the CD it wants to connect to the external device via MirrorLink in order to detect the music data and play it. ...

Re: ID-3 Navigation System Live Traffic Reporting
Hi Anduain, Did you mean that Apple maps indications shows up on the HUD? I thought that only the native navigation system was using the HUD. Thanks for confirming Yes, to a degree. I’ve moved from Google Maps to Apple Maps for this reason. Apple Maps shows direction info in the lower portion of th...

Re: What colour did you get/order?
Stonewashed Blue for us.
ID3 does look good in White I have to say. But as a recent previous car was a white one decided on the blue. Turquoise was considered, but as both wife and daughter thought it is was a “late life crisis” colour for someone who’s just got their bus pass!

Re: Home charging point and Matt-E
I’ve recently had a Hypervolt charger installed. Very impressed and would strongly recommend it. No earth rod required as it has PEN fault detection. Also has automatic load protection. I’ve also found Hypervolt’s customer service is first class.

Re: Thinking of buying ID 3
Hi, new to the forum. It's great to have views from actual owners. Wished I'd found you a few weeks ago and saved myself hours of research. Still so many questions, I hope you can help out. 2. How do I find out if my power supply can cope with a 7kw home charger (read about fuse boards and loops) I...

Re: Thinking of buying ID 3
2. Check your main fuse and the number of cables coming into and out of it. If it says 100A and you have one cable coming in and one coming out, you're mostly set. Anything else you need a sparky. If you have one cable coming and one going out is where you may need an electrician to check your supp...

Re: Recommend home charger
Thanks everyone for your responses. After much investigation I decided on a Zappi. We’re considering installing solar panels to assist charging the car and help heat our hot water tank so a Zappi seemed the best option for us. Received a quote from a ‘myenergi’ approved installer for £750 after the ...

Recommend home charger
I'm soon to become an ID.3 owner, my first EV, so need to have a home charger installed. I'd like some advice and/or recommendations regarding which one works best with the ID.3. I suppose my key requirements is that either via the car, or the charger, I can program in scheduled charging to make use...

Business and Tech model options gone
Just going through the latest VW ID3 brochure (14th May) and noticed that the Business and Tech options are no longer mentioned. Models jump from Family straight to Max. VW done this to justify the no-grant assisted cost of the extra options of Max over Family?

Re: Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?
Drivethedeal are cheaper than Carwow for most marques, certainly for VWs. If you're after some cheap deals, i'd use drivethedeal as a yardstick to what's achievable. Also, if you're after an ID3 in a hurry, do a search for new ID3s on Autotrader- there are a number of dealerships with unregistered ...

Re: Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?
I note you mentioned you do a lot of seat fiddling. Just be aware that the ID3 power seats aren’t memory. They are good, but will still require manual manipulation Ohhh!! What!? £40k+ and no memory on the seats!!! What are VW thinking! :x Seriously, many thanks for that info Jono as it may have sav...

Re: Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?
Hi, @Trantor, I've just acquired a new Tech from Lookers who were running a "Golden Ticket" offer equivalent to about 8% off the total price. These seem to be time-limited arrangements for stock vehicles, I found a colour I was happy with so did the deal. FYG I looked at part exchange but...

Re: Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?
Trantor- How's the Polo GTI+ doing? We have one of those, also about 2 years old. With an educated guess, assuming you haven't loaded up on the extras, I'd expect yours to be worth about £16k right now in part ex or going via the likes of Motorway.co.uk Just got an ID3 Life Pro Performance in Glaci...

Prospective ID.3 owner Buy now or later?
Greetings. Recently found this forum so first post. I’ve been contemplating an EV for a while now and looking at what EV’s are on the market an ID.3 is probably the best fit for the wife and I. What has been niggling me is whether to get one soon or wait. I suppose a major concern is depreciation on...
