Re: Changing Cards or 300 apps
Personally I am not going to use any of the Tesla chargers as a point of principle.

Re: Changing Cards or 300 apps
If you are in Scotland well worth getting the Chargeplace Scotland card as their app is pretty flakey but card works very reliably. I also have the Wecharge and Electroverse cards. I can't charge at home so I also have most of the main apps on my phone (Ionity, Osprey, Instavolt, Shell, BP etc) just...

Re: Further updates after 3.7
Do you know if it changes the longer number in system info in vehicle settings in the infotainment at all? Or is there any other way to tell if you have had the update? No, the software version in system information remains the same; 1751. The only control module that gets updated is the inverter; ...

Re: First EV drive on vacation?
He just means the opening is in a different place! :) There is no known issue with boots opening. Haha actually I was teasing. With main question on possible charging surprises, and why AC is billed the way it is, operating the boot is not high on my list of curiosities. Just read EWEGo’s FAQ secti...

Re: First EV drive on vacation?
Wondering what is the most common surprise I must be prepared for? On vacation with ID.3 and an EV for the first time I won’t have much leeway to learn. I have watched videos of charging with the EnBW app, video reviews of ID.3 with main knobs and functions, learned about range and ABRP, checked mo...

Re: Car is online but app says it isn't
For some reason this thread is making me remember the old joke about an Irishman who was having some problems with his indictors. He asked his friend to help him check them. "I've switched them on" he told his friend who replied "They're working...no they're not...working again...no s...

What software version does the car show after this update please?
Not sure if I have had it or not. Seem to recall a very quick update a few weeks before Xmas but not sure now.

Re: The infrastructure just isn't really there
Re the discussion on price per kwh and comparison with other countries its important to remember the UK has I believe the highest electricity prices in Europe. Until that changes (I can hope/dream) its always going to be relatively expensive here I think. Our overnight charging prices are cheaper t...

Re: EV driving in Iceland
Thanks for the replies.
The ChargeFinder app does look very useful and there does seem to be a lot of chargers including Instavolt.
There will be five of us so the extra space of the ID.4 will be welcome.
Have a good Christmas everyone.

EV driving in Iceland
Will be spending several days in Iceland between Xmas and New Year and have hired an ID4 to get around a bit and see some sites. If anyone has any experience or tips on EV driving there and/or charging I would be very interested to hear them. Also welcome any on the ID4 versus ID3 experience. Thanks...

Re: V3.7 OTA Update takes 3½ *HOURS*
"But for me the fact that you have to guess when the update has finished and go out to the car after...who knows...a few hours ?...to check is just plain nuts." Couldn't agree more. I guess I come from a different era of software development, but the idea of not issuing a 'successful compl...

Re: V3.7 OTA Update takes 3½ *HOURS*
Even allowing for fat finger syndrome, a better progress bar and/or a shorter update time would prevent the panic caused by no visible activity for long periods and lots of dire warning messages about the 12V battery, no drive, SOS emergency call, etc. Hear, hear. And why can't you see a history of...

Re: SW 3.7 OTA update is starting
Update notification received last night and successfully installed overnight, Followed the on screen instruction to switch off side lights and locked the car to allow install. Re: VW Finance (PCP)
If you haven't signed the finance agreement I doubt you are legally committed but I am no lawyer. I would therefore have thought you would likely be able to negotiate with VW to get at least some of the increased contribution. Are other dealers offering this increased contribution too? You could alw...

Re: SW 3.7 OTA update is starting
No it just happened OTA the next day when I got in the car. What? I’ll be on the phone to VW first thing in the morning. 🤬🤪 When 3.7 first arrived, it apparently still showed as 3.5 (doh) so they pushed a small OTA just to update the number in the infotainment. I remember it was posted about in the...

Re: SW 3.7 OTA update is starting
Don't hold your breath... My 2nd ID.3 which I got in Nov. last year came with 3.5 and was updated OTA to 3.7 the next day. Nothing since then.... Was it updated by the dealer? We got ours in March this year and it’s still on 3.5. No it just happened OTA the next day when I got in the car.
