Re: Home charger advice

I have the EmonEVSE from https://shop.openenergymonitor.com/emonevse-wifi-connected-ev-charging-station-type-2/ . I use their EmonPi for all my solar monitoring, and diverting excess to the immersion heater. I am not preferring to divert to my EV, and it's working really well. There are many options...

Re: Selected Mode (Sport/Comfort) not persistent.

So I learn a bit more. Re-tested in D Mode Sport. Right enough it defaults to Comfort when you first turn on until you select Sport again. Regens in Sport and not in Comfort. The regen in D Sport seems to be lighter than when in Drive B. More difficult to one-pedal drive! Also means I think that fo...

Re: Selected Mode (Sport/Comfort) not persistent.

I drive 100% in B these days and it regens as soon as I lift the pedal in all modes. How should I set it up to test? In D switching between Sport and Eco? Yes, use D and do the test using Sport. However, have read this in the manual: Behaviour of the driving profiles when the ignition is switched o...

Re: Selected Mode (Sport/Comfort) not persistent.

The real test would have been to see what happens when you take your foot off the accelerator. If it's really in Sport mode, it would auto regen. If it's back in Comfort mode, it would coast.

Re: Selected Mode (Sport/Comfort) not persistent.

This is interesting, and something I didn't know. I too thought I was driving in Eco mode, but obviously I wasn't! VW had exactly the same issue in the Touran we had previous to the ID.3. I will report to my dealer.

ZapMap 7.0

Has anyone tired out the new ZapMap 7.0 with CarPlay? I'm debating whether to get ABRP, or maybe now ZapMap is a direct rival for routing?

Re: Range indicator confusion

Yes - it is only indicative, which is not wholly satisfactory. But a huge number of variables (which are in the future and not entirely predictable) go into the actual mileage you’ll extract from a charge so an exact figure is not actually possible. In the same way that smartphones show battery per...

Re: Pod Point now support scheduled charging!

It looks to me that they are reporting the current. When I plug in my granny charger it shows 10mph, which would equate to the 10A that it is pulling. 10mph when your range is estimated at 200 miles is different to 10mph when your range is estimated at 250 miles, even when the current is exactly th...

Re: Pod Point now support scheduled charging!

On a slightly different topic, why does it say charging at 27mph, or 7mph! Surely it's meant to be in amps, or am I missing something? Because VW have dumbed down the information given to the driver - they could show the kW figure, they could represent it as % per hour, but they show it as mph whic...

I'm still trying to work out which one it is amongst the ID.3 accessories! It's really annoying that they don't have pictures! https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners-and ... ccessories

Re: Boot liner?

I've just got my ID.3 and I am considering what to use to keep the boot clean. I've heard mention about this false floor type mat. Has anyone got one, and what are they like? Are they any use to keep the charging cable safe? It's a real shame there is no compartment to put the cable in. If the false...
