I agree.
I started on D (because that’s what comes first when you twist the knob), then moved to B (thinking that would maximise regen), and now use both. I have noticed improved efficiency mixing them.

Re: Keyless car theft
I did a reassuring test today, and yes the keys do appear to go to sleep: I locked the car and put the key on the ground by the drivers door. After 5 minutes I tried keyless entry and the doors would not unlock. A jiggle of the keys to wake them, but still leaving them on the ground, and now the key...

I’ve had random inappropriate error messages before but not that one. My favourite so far was “Battery Fault - do not drive” which disappeared after a restart

Re: ID3 Home Charging
I have a Zappi home charger and the app that manages it has “Timed” setting, what I don’t have however is an off peak tariff option from my supplier!
I’m planning on phoning Octopus tomorrow to start down that route.

Re: ID3 Home Charging
@miki, the £500/2000kWh credit is a 12 month VW offer for charging at some public chargers (mostly but not entirely Ionity ones). Look on the WeConnectID app at the We Charge section in your profile. You can apply there but I don’t know whether it’s a deal that has ended now. If you can’t get it to ...

Do you drive D or B?
How do you drive your ID.3 and what which mode gives you the best economy? For the first week I drove it in D but for the last three weeks I’ve been driving almost exclusively in B. I love the one pedal driving and I’m getting to the stage that I’m hardly using the brake pedal at all...it makes me w...

Do people think it’s a possibility that there’ll be a future sw upgrade that would allow footage to be captured from the existing front and rear cameras along the same lines as Tesla do already...

Re: What’s Up with the charging speeds ?
Update on charge after battery prep (not positive!) Advice from Ionity was 1- driving for 30-40 minutes at highway speeds prior to charge to ensure battery is warm 2- not having the battery less than 20% prior to charge 3- nice warm day Nothing to be done about the warm day but was about the same as...

Re: Good buy I3 Hello ID3
You should be able to see charge progress on the app by looking at the vehicle menu (the car icon on the bottom ribbon). When it’s charging it will tell you how long until reachng the target charge.

Re: Key not working
I’ve not had any problems with the key fob operation, some weirdities with central locking generally. It sounds like it could be a failure of the fob itself but maybe worth looking at the locking options in the vehicle menu?

Re: What’s Up with the charging speeds ?
Ok, I’m writing this while I sit plugged into an ionity rapid charger (capable of upto 350kW), charging at around 60kW. I thought I’d phone them up and ask why it wasn’t maxing out at 100kW... Turns out there’s a few potential reasons. Optimum charging speed relies on several things: - a battery <20...

Re: Is it me?
The volume slider being dark doesn’t bother me because you don’t have to touch it in a particular place it’s just whether you move your finger left or right to reduce or increase the volume....as it’s relatively large and central I find it easy to locate. The heating sliders are a little trickier to...

Re: Sat nav freeze
I had all those symptoms (along with a couple of others...)
I got the car back on Friday with the sw patched to level 0570 and so far the satnav has behaved. Saying that I haven’t actually been anywhere new where I’ve needed to navigate yet, but the map screen has been on display.

Yes, twist the joystick to the position below the L, about 7 o’clock, and select.

Brake lights & regenerative braking 🔴
Something which often goes through my mind when I’m driving my ID3 is “I wonder what my brake lights are up to right now?” When I’m driving and press the brake pedal I expect the brake lights come on, but what about: - When I’m coasting up to a junction and the car progressively increases RB - When ...
