Yes, 5.9mm starting point, meaning that your 4mm tyres have lost 1.9mm in doing 5000 miles, you've got another 5000 miles to get down to 2mm, so you'll be fine to do your 2000 mile French trip.

Yes - my 18" Bridgestones also measured 5.9mm when new - within the limits of measuring error

Re: Abnormal ?

Was your car nearly brand new when you got it?

Our ID3 was delivered new a year ago last week with a predicted 250 mile range. This dropped, quite quickly, to something more realistic. This week is standing around 225 miles when fully charged.

Re: Id3 battery degradation (Preliminary data)

Very interesting. The full technical article is in English: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2590116822000133/ IMHO these articles are very different. IMHO the German article is written in fairly plain language, and the article in English is written in scientific gobble-di-gook. I...

Re: VW We charge / Elli

Tbh I went for a VW Charge Go solely because I’m doing a long drive to the south east of France and Black Forest on May, June. I will use Ionity as the charging ‘backbone’ and the subscription will easily pay for itself on that trip. But I’m aware no one has said much about the prices of non-Ionity...

Re: VW We charge / Elli

I have "WeCharge Plus" because we have a [very small] house in France - 1200km from our home in UK. I think WeCharge was the right decision for us because we do not have "range anxiety." I hummed and hawed at the high cost of the annual package compared with its very reasonable p...

Re: D mode B mode and the motorway
The key message is - If you're not wasting energy, there's nothing for regen to recover. Sat on the motorway at a constant speed is a fine example of that.
All these answers show us why VW gave us a choice between D and B - so everyone can choose for themselves. As usual I agree wi...

Re: King Red - Bi Colour Wheel Trim

Any idea what the cost of a set of 4 would be? I can see then on eBay for £160 + delivery, but would rather get them direct from VW. I'd ask your dealer if he could do them at cost as you are buying a new car from them, and you want to know how helpful they can be[!] Then let Forum members buy the ...

ID.3 brochure archive

Here's a link to a zip file of the 29 ID.3 brochures I saved on to my computer. Most of them cannot be found anywhere else. Some of them are in European languages, and some are UK brochures. They might be of interest to someone. Officially these are the copyright of VW, and if VW objects please cont...

Try calling your local TPS - https://tps.trade/ Much cheaper than through a dealer, but still Genuine VW parts as they are part of VW. (They are officially trade only but I buy all the time over the counter) Part number is 10a853677 I know an independent VW specialist mechanic who only uses genuine...

Re: Range declining with cooler temperatures

So much recuperation happens in D mode anyway, the difference between a driver that has an economical driving style in an ID3 and one that doesn't is far smaller than for an ICE car with no regen function. I agree with this. In the past, for fun, I used to drive as economically as possible. In the ...

And I see that after about 5 months VW GB are even catching up with other European countries because they are now offering... RED CARS!

And more interesting seat fabrics!

Maybe they will soon be able to offer a fault diagnosis in less than two weeks to owners in Kent!

Re: Creaking from Panoramic Roof

I thought about this yesterday when my Family had been making funny noises. Then I realised one of the back seats was not secured properly... So I cleared my problem myself. But everyone who has had other cars knows they all creak. On my 2011 Touran I put a finger on the top edge of the drivers door...

Re: ID3 Max Pro Charging Rates

I agree that the charging rates on my car - v2.3 - have dropped since the autumn arrived. That's taking into account what we all know about charging rates from 20% compared to charging rates past 80%. But I do not know enough about the subject to know whether to blame the falling temperatures - or t...

A good part of that looks like it will polish out. Usually if you wet your finder and rub it over the mark if it disapears it will polish out. I am sorry to see your car has been scraped. I will be very annoyed when this happens to me - as it will happen to us all sooner or later. I partly agree wi...

Not interested in using my car as a battery for the house or anything else. I prefer to maximise the life span of the battery and use it for driving. If I need a big battery at home I will buy a powerwall or something similar ... I agree. I am intrigued at the idea of a windmill or solar panels, bu...

Re: My ID.3 Vehicle Specification - do you have one?

From Facebook I have now learnt that easiest way to find specification is via https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/myvolkswagen/garage.html once logged in go, then to my vehicle equipment which for me lists 140 items, including lots of withouts, but no mention of without voice control or remote heating.
