Re: Home charger

I decided to get a Zappi, with solar panels it can adjust charge rate to match their output. I have only used it in this way once so far!

Re: Hello fellow ID3 fans

I have now had my VW #ID3 for one week. My real-world stats (not a controlled range test) - after around 300 miles, avg usage is 17.0 kWh/100km, currently charged up to 77% and estimated range on dashboard is 176 miles based on my driving (works out to 228 miles for 100%)

Online User Manual

Via facebook “first mover group”, I have found that you can get the user manual online via:

https://userguide.volkswagen.de/public/vin/login/en_GB

then enter the VIN number - but in place of the year letter L for 2020, substitute M for 2021

Re: First Delivery!

I have driven around 200 miles now, so starting to feel at home in the car (after 8 years in a Golf mk6) and I’m happy with the handling and performance (although I haven’t exactly thrown it around!) Another big annoyance with the nav system, is that although the car has picked up the contacts list ...

Re: I'm a bit worried about the range

See Chris from BatteryLife: https://youtu.be/FgyN7pdss7o My own experience over the first weekend:after 95 miles I was down to 55%, topped up to 80%, another 52 miles left SoC at 60% So total 147 miles for 65% of battery works out to approx 226 total. This was not all smooth and steady 56mph, it was...

Re: First Delivery!

Over the weekend I covered 147 miles, on a mix of A-roads and country lanes (as I had a weekend away already booked when the delivery date came through) I still need a bit of time to fully work through all the settings and screens, but I got the hang of the adaptive cruise control and lane assist fa...

Getting a Car Insurance quote

I was trying to get an idea of the cost of insurance a couple of weeks ago, without the reg no of course, and most of the companies still don't list the ID3 on their website. I did get a quote from my current insurer (Direct Line) to update from my Golf - they offered to update the policy for an ext...

Home charger now installed

I decided to get a Myenergi Zappi, as this can detect the amount of solar power, for eco charging if the car is at home on a sunny day. Installed by Joju (who installed my solar panels and Powerwall)

I can see it now - maybe it didn’t show until I had made a few posts on the forum - or maybe I was just looking in the wrong place?

Re: Viability of Road Trips in EVs?

I had been planning a holiday near Berlin this summer (until, you know...) and in the hope I might have the ID3 in time, I looked into charging options. There’s a really good website (and app) called abetterrouteplanner.com - tell it what car you have, and where you’re going, and it will suggest cha...
