Re: Home charging fitting

I'm awaiting fitment of an Sync EV. I chose this as its small and seems to have all the features I need (including 3/4g) - and is fairly cheap (£550 inc install and grant etc..) I avoided the podpoints as a couple of neigbours have them and whilst its a matter of personal taste they look like a grea...

Re: Lead time and air con

Might even been the last car to get them through a sales quota bonus, they might take a hit on one car to score that bonus! Thats what I thought - esp as it was the sales manager who dealt with me. I may have also managed to accrue a little professional embarrassment discount as they got the model ...

Re: Your view on items offered with new car ?

I bought a new golf ten years ago (last new purchase) and went for 1 (haggled down to £200) and in the end they threw in gardX for free. The dent repair thing was worthwile - in that I used it 3 or 4 times - but they clamped down after a couple of years and it was harder to claim (dent had to be in ...

Re: 3 pin cable for holiday charging - what to look for when buying?

Screwfix masterplug cable has been out of stock for (at least) the last three weeks IIRC. They're also commanding a £40-50 premium on the screwfix price on Ebay auctions...

Re: Lead time and air con

Life Pro from Inchcape Stockport. In stock (hoping for delivery this week). £23800 (I think) after all the discounts (and I managed to get some mats and a granny charger too). (I've had a couple of people DM me about this - and they've not got close since, so might be that I got lucky with stock/dem...

Re: Standing Water

Plenty of examples of Tesla’s going through fairly deep water from google.

Eg https://insideevs.com/news/351925/video ... ous-water/

No idea what this means for an ID3….

Re: Newbie thinking about Life and Family

All UK ID3's come with heated seats (front) and steering wheel. I thought the life was pretty well spec'd and there are parking sensors all round, so for me a reversing camera seemed overkill.

Bear in mind I'm awaiting delivery (so only test drive experience) and I am a cheapskate :D

Re: Waiting for my tour

Bump on this thread… Ordered a bog standard Life Pro on Monday 14th June (told it was ‘in stock’) - given delivery date of 30th June. Checked today via the VW chat and it’s waiting to be shipped… chat person said it normally takes a couple of weeks to be shipped from that status - so I probably shou...

Re: VW ID Configuration down

I’ve just put a deposit on a Life Pro (so next to bottom of the range :) ) for: £23902 (and I got them to throw in some rubber mats and a granny charger - about £300 worth)... That’s including the 2.5k govt grant, 1k Euro2021 test drive offer and the 1.75k PCP dealer deposit contribution. (Which mea...

Re: iD3 driving position and back pain

Thanks - I've generally found no correlation between seat firmness or lumbar support and back pain - its mainly down to the driving position. BMW's, Volvo's fine. Korean (Kia, Hyundai) fine too, as most recent fords (after they borrowed Volvo's ergonomics dept..)

iD3 driving position and back pain

Some context - very close to signing up to an ID3 but have a history of lower back pain - last associated with a mk6 golf I owned from 2011-15 (100k miles in this period). This was solved almost overnight when I bought a Volvo v40 (that I still have). So I’m suspicious of VW ergonomics/driving posit...

To save starting a new thread - about 95% there to giving my deposit for a new ID3 and researching what looks like a complicated home charging market! Any good places / websites to start? Prefer to use a local person if poss (Manchester based) - and its a fairly simple install (board in cellar - wir...

Re: VW Solutions PCP £1750 discount and paying off early

Magic. Seems like a decent extra discount for very little bother. Thanks for all the replies. Brings it down to £24700.. (58kw life) By the way the drive the deal price was for 14 week delivery.. dealer is ‘in stock’ (aka a few weeks) Going to have another test drive this weekend… last bought a bran...

VW Solutions PCP £1750 discount and paying off early

Hi there, Just weighing up options and ID3 prices at the moment - loads of discounts around before any dealer haggling (2.5k govt, 1k Euro21 test drive and £1.75k PCP deposit contribution). BTW, the PCP deposit contribution more or less pays for the interest over 2 years - making it effectively inte...
