Re: Pod Point question
I have three extenders currently and don't consider to be living in a mansion. I don't know what mesh devices are? GOOGLE to the rescue.

I'm having trouble with my WiFi extender and need to replace it. Anyone know how to access the setup or know how to change the network connection?

Re: Delivery time
New car day. It is finally here! 20220520_113800.jpg It was driven from Crewe I think, and arrived with 10% battery remaining so I've plugged it in and think it's charging. I've managed to connect to the app easily enough. Had a quick drive to drop the guy off at the train station (he has to go and...

Re: Delivery time
My week 18 build did apparently not get built- no update since then. Such a frustrating process And just like that- they called and said it’s waiting to get on a boat 🤣 Ffs 😂 it's went from not being built to now waiting to be shipped, all within a day 🤦🏼♂️ excellent news though 👍 Hope for all if ...

Re: Delivery time
Heard back from my dealer today: ordered end of Oct 21 and STILL don’t have a build date and am at status 00. Pretty sure that there are plenty of people in a similar boat but it’s very frustrating. I ordered at the same time & still no build week ! What a joke 😡 We ordered 11 August and are in...

Re: Understanding the info screen / range / MP?
I personally find pence/mile much easier to handle to compare ICE and EV. I agree. Dead easy to calculate and compare. MPG obviously has no place in the EV realm and with such variation in the cost/kW charging you can only express what that figure is for you as an individual at any particular time....

Re: Charging at 11kw/h AC
This doesn't make sense to me. Are you only getting half the charge rate because the battery is nearly fully charged? Nope. It’s because AC charging is limited to 11kw on the id3. Oh boy. I consider myself fairly tech literate but didn't realise that was an issue. It's not an issue. It's how it's e...

Re: Charging at 11kw/h AC
I get around 44 miles/hour or around 11kW when I have charged at a 22kW Tesco charger with the standard cable provided with car. I would suspect there is a setting in your car that needs a tweak or restriction on the charge point.

Re: Delivery time
I ordered in Oct as well and as of Friday still no build date. This is the first VW I have ordered and will probably be the last due to the complete lack of information. I share the same sentiment. This is my first and last time I'll deal with VW for the same reason. It does make you feel like this...

Re: Understanding the info screen / range / MP?
I think I know what you trying to do but as there is no ICE derivative of an ID3 your comparison has to be made with some other ICE model. Start by working out your cost in pence/mile. Then make a comparison with your ICE. My example is my previous Focus ST. That did 36 mpg. Work out the cost/ mile ...

Re: Delivery time
Update from Vertu this evening.
My car remains an August build but the good news reported is that mine was one of few cars that was not put even further back.
Having been shifted from Jan 22 to August 22 It didn't sound like good news to me.

TOUR UPDATE We formally cancelled our order with the VW dealership today, and expect to be in a Model Y toward the middle/end June. The folks local to us who we were going to try to transfer our Motability order to found an alternative vehicle and cancelled their Tour order as well, so there was no...

Re: Do you follow VW advice on battery charging?
A practical range for day to day use doesn't have a bearing on the potential range when you need it. You can set off at a 100% and run down to a level that suits your charging plans. That's still in the recommendations. You use the appropriate guidance for your specific journey. Just a different co...

Re: Delivery time
RANDOM BUILD DATES V ORDER No I didn’t want to start a new thread on this. The random nature if cars being built and delivered versus order numbers has to have some rational that we don't see or understand. I can't believe it is simply chaos and pot luck if your order is pulled out of the hat. Peopl...

Re: Key not present warning.
The key was in the centre console in the bottle holder. If it happens again I will swap with the spare key that is rarely used and that should eliminate the key itself being a problem. Maybe just a random glitch!

Key not present warning.
I had been waiting in the car for a while to pick the family up, maybe 10 mins. When I pulled away the car came up with "key not present warning" I expected at any moment the car to come to a grinding hault but it was fine but continued to flash the warning up for 4 or 5 minutes. Anyone ex...

Re: New hope to be Id3 owner
As a starting point you can work around an estimate of 3.5 miles/kw of charge. On the threads owners report consumptions ranging from upper 2.5 miles/kW in Winter and 5+miles/kW in Summer. On a round trip of 57 miles you will use on average 57 miles/3.5m/kW = 16.28kW. If you can charge at home on a ...

Re: Charging/range question
Yes. The range is calculated dynamically based on a lot of factors, mostly temperature and how you drive. If it is cold outside, the battery needs to be heated and you will see that when starting. A subtle hint is the blue bar indicating available regen. It is shorter when the battery is cold. We h...
