Re: ID.3 Newbie - my home / granny charger buying experience

I went with an EO Mini Pro 2 supplied and installed by Octopus. I had switched previously and also got the smart meter installed by them. The EO was £605 all inclusive, which included the Garo RCD fusebox. I am in north Oxfordshire. The EO timer works great with the ID.3 and Octopus Go Faster (08:30...

Re: Stuck in Offline Mode

Here's an image of the fuse layout (its the one in the glove box). Apparently the fuse box under the bonnet also includes some tweezers.

Re: New delivery: Rattle sound

It could be the surrounding plastic on the rear window. I had this, and had also read this on the 1st Movers Facebook group. It could be quite annoying on certain road surfaces. I fixed this up myself with some anti rattle felt tape and the VW dealer tidied it up when doing the 2.1 update. They did ...

What is the version of the navigation database? Last time I checked mine it was 21.2 and has been ok on minor roads. It is possible to check the map data online at https://mapcreator.here.com/

Re: Charging observations - comments/opinions appreciated

For the Tesla destination chargers I have seen at hotels, they often have two colours, red (tesla only) and silver (other evs). You can only charge at a silver one.

Re: Parking for 2 weeks

Thanks all. I will park up at the airport. If I set out with a full charge the journey should only take a max of 20kw out of the battery. Plenty left to be sitting with for 2 weeks even with a daily decay. I have a 12v battery booster I keep in the glove box just in case (bought as was on 0564 for ...

Re: ACC speeding/breaking

Then car founds out, that 110 detected and accelerates. Put it back to 103 (which is not fun, because +-10 goes simply) Then passed truck and suddenly car 70 detected and braked in front of truck. Guy had to thought me suicidal, did emergency breaking, sat on his horn and almost smashed me. ...

What software version are you on? It may be an intermittent bug.

Re: Charging screen info

This is an old photo when I was on 0564, and here the car is charging on CCS, but I am pretty sure the information display is the same when on the home 7kw charger.

Re: 2.1 upgrade software has been updated

Interesting document. The only thing I received was the 2.1 update and nothing else. What is now in your car's document wallet? In the glovebox, perhaps? Mine now has the README document, the same format as the old manual but much slimmer. I was also given a garish red and blue streaked face mask, ...

Re: WiFi or Hotspot?

I believe I'm not the only one on these forums who is confused about the car's WiFi function. The car has its own cellular transceiver and SIM, so you can make emergency phone calls using the button in front of the interior mirror. I believe the car can also download software updates using its cell...

Re: 2.1 upgrade software has been updated

I read somewhere else (cannot remember if FB or another forum) that they had now figured out how to reprogram one of the controllers rather than get it into a "bricked" state. Rumour has it that it was an unofficial hack, but now an official fix — however its all rumours it seems...

Re: Wifi connection

I can see a number of threads about wifi and being unable to connect to home networks. I tried to connect this morning and the car found my extender no problem but received a security not suitable message. The main Sky hub is deeper in the house and strength where I park too weak. It did however on...

Re: 2.1 update confirmed

My update has been cancelled for the second time by my dealer. Apparently they have bricked 3 cars trying to apply the update. They don’t want to risk doing anymore until they have in stock the replacement control unit. It seems to be an issue with some early models. Mine is an early model and it u...

Re: 2.1 update confirmed

Happy to report my 2.1 update completed yesterday (dropped off last Wednesday) and the car was picked up today. Seems okay, more than that didn’t realise how much I absolutely hated the loan car (ice golf highline) compared to the id3. Time will tell, but pleased with the vw customer service so far...

I think in general many/most networks accept debit/credit cars for payment. There can be some advantages in having specific network...
