Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
in Heavy rain the LH wiper 'throws' water across the drivers line of vision, at night time the problem is worse because this becomes a 'whiteout' of glare from on coming lights.

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
Despite my earlier suggestion that it isn't worth pursuing this with VW, I mentioned it to the service adviser yesterday when he was handing over the car after 2.1update (RFT BTW) I expected to be told 'nothing we can do'. The response however was surprising . He said that he too had experienced &qu...

Re: A pleasant surprise - Range
I recently had a business trip to Norwich -165 miles most of it on the A14, most of it set at 70 mph. I set off with 100% charge but kept thinking I might need to do a small charge along the way, but the range was holding up so I didn't. When I arrived I had 79 miles left on the GOM. - 244 miles tot...

Re: New interesting message - Take control of steering immediately
Yesterday I drove our 2004 'analogue' Polo SDI for the first time in a while. It reminded me how simple life used to be. The car did exactly what I asked of it, nothing more, nothing less - and all those real switches!! However, when I got home my wife was quick to complain about the exhaust smell I...

Re: Charging at 100kW or 50kW?
Thanks for this interesting perspective. It makes me feeling I am missing out less not having 100kw capability. I find that with Instavolt chargers I can reliably get the 50kW from c.20% (the lowest level from which I have tried to rapid charge) to just over 80%. Ecotricity and Genie chargers seem l...

Re: ID3 Life or Business
Interesting (and frustrating); they must have changed it with the introduction of the low power motor. (mine is 201ps)
I wonder if it is just a software configuration or if there is a hardware change. Would be good to upgrade if possible.

Re: ID3 Life or Business
My Life Pro only charges at 50kW!!, the salesman told me that would be the case when I bought it - he was right, it definitely reduces viability of very long journeys (assuming you can find working 100kW chargers of course!)

Re: ID3 Life or Business
One big thing to remember about Life vs Business is the 50kW charging limit on Life. This becomes a real limitation if you are regularly doing long journeys which require more than 20kW top up to complete the journey.

Re: I’ll probably get hung for this - ID3 or Tesla 3
For me, having dismissed the Nissan, The ID3 was the first BEV which promised a non-stop driving range of 200 miles that I could afford (£6,000 down <£260 @15,000 miles per year). Having said that, best non- stop journey achieved so far is 170 miles, and with numerous problem with public charging si...

Re: OUR Real World Range
I think we need to recognise that as yet BEV ownership is not feasible for all, especially when you consider the premium cost of the long range vehicles. I guess I'm in a similar position as Dave and Olly in that I have the luxury of adapting my driving style and journey set up to cope with the 58kW...

Re: OUR Real World Range
Dave, agree with you completely on the objective of minimizing heater (and for that matter A/C) use. My difficulty is the climate requirement voice demands emanating from the front passenger seat with are required to be translated into action by the driver's figures!! (Just as well on Life Pro, as y...

Re: OUR Real World Range
I conducted a couple of Range tests on recent trips. My Car is a Life Pro with heatpump, running 0783 software. Having covered over 1,000 miles all running gear should have lost any initial 'newness'. All driving is in 'D'/Eco/without ACC. Day 1 Fully charged to 100% immediately before trip interior...

I'm Planning two work trips in the next few days a 90 mile round trip followed by 250 mile round trip the next day (hoping the charge points are functioning!). I'll record the data and feedback.

I've never managed to get the App to tell me where the car is, it does tell me where my phone is though!!
This is one of the points I'm waiting to sort out with the dealer.

Re: Cheers from Life
Looking at a Family in the dealer show room it looks as though a side rails and floor itself should be retrofitable to models without it. there will be a compromise about access to the rear lower storage box, but that will be overcomeable. The dealer couldn't find the part numbers on their system! _...

On Wednesday when the temperature was >12degc, I did 40 miles mixed driving at 3.9 m/kWhr (15.9kWh/100km).
So much better than cold weather 2.5-2.7 m/kWhr!

Re: Quality of the sound system?
I pointed out to my dealer that my daughter's 11 year old Skoda Fabia estate has manual rear windows and 'key in lock' central locking, but it does have rear speakers.!!. I suggested that I maybe should have waited for the Skoda version of ID3... he was visibly embarrassed by have no answer!!
