Re: Software 3.1

Using Facebook is pretty lame. They have my email address and are able to send me information about things like the ID Buzz, so why not this. I’ve got a fb but never log on to it anymore, I hate it. What’s next, announcing thing via Snapchat and instagram, if the want to keep things bang up to date.

Re: Intelligent Octopus - VW Availability

Stay well away for now. ID.3 scheduling is knackered by all accounts and although Ohme is apparently supported it will be a world of pain if you own an ID.3. The ID3 hates being plugged into a charger and not being charged. There are work arounds but I’d not go near intelligent octopus with a barge ...

Re: Honest thoughts on our ID.3

Had mine a few months and although I love it there are some standout gripes I have with it… 1) The wipers are bloody awful! I’m convinced they used that layout because they thought it would save a bit of money. They are utterly crap and by far the worst thing about the car. I’d never buy another ca...

Hehe, it’s not made obvious. I can’t remember how I found out what I was doing wrong. I do remember seeing people messing with their phones after they plugged the cable in!

Re: Public Pod Point chargers

Thanks. As a novice I intend to pop to my local Tesco later (about a mile away) and use the charger so I can gain a better understanding of the process. Thankfully, the VW salesperson did forewarn me about making sure the car was locked. Cheers G Also, you need to use the pod point app to claim the...

Re: Public Pod Point chargers

The free ones at the likes of Tescos are generally untethered, so you need to bring your own type 2 cable to plug in - and make sure the car is set to not unlock it or someone might pinch it to sell for copper scrap. Thanks. As a novice I intend to pop to my local Tesco later (about a mile away) an...

I've heard nothing back yet but will keep this thread updated to their response.
I’d give that CPWL profile a try.

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

Glad yours is fixed too. Ohme told me today that they have also now made this adapted profile available publicly to anyone who removes and re-adds their car; the profile is called 'CPWL' for some reason. This is an image they sent me. ID.3 car model.jpg Excellent thanks, I was told I’d lose the set...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

Are they suggesting it is more of a car issue still? There 'fix' seems to suggest they think it's the car not accepting the charge which I find highly unlikely. As others have said elsewhere, the car will 'take' what is offered. Rather glad I got the Zappi, 14 months in and the only time it fails t...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

To Newfie, itshardtobuyid3 and anyone else who has been having trouble getting the Ohme Home Pro to work reliably at full charge rate with their ID3 for scheduled charging (with the charge from 0030 often only running at 4kw until manually stopped/restarted): I have now, touch wood, got a solution....

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

I really don't know what people think having the OS wiper raise first is going to achieve, When the wipers go up there is water left during excessive rain on the left hand side of the screen, so flip them to your so called " RHD " setup you will just have the apparent problem flipped to b...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

I think the regulator for type approvals in the UK is the vehicle certification agency. enquiries@vca.gov.uk https://www.vehicle-certification-agency.gov.uk/ There is a complaints link. It may be worth seeing if they have published anything relevant on their website, for example they may publish gu...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

If it been approved then it must be safe!! Why aren't they taking us seriously!!! They have taken it seriously, they have replied which means they took time over your enquiry. The wipers have been approved for use in the UK, if your not happy with that then you should be approaching the Vehicle cer...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car

If anyone finds out a way of reporting this somewhere that will have any sort of impact I’ll join in. They are seriously dangerous and if they have been accepted in a test somewhere the test is wrong. I was driving down the M5 in a storm yesterday night and could hardly see a thing in my direct line...

Re: EV or PHEV short journeys

I’d steer well clear of a PHEV if you are only doing short journeys. The engine will hardly ever get used and you could find when you do use it your fuel will have gone off and you end up breaking down. This new E10 fuel doesn’t last very long. The shelf life is only 3 months. I’d not worry too much...

Re: Carplay small buttons and text

CarPlay is really bad on the ID3. I’d assumed it was just down to the high resolution of the screen making the buttons far too small. I had no such similar problems on my Polo GTi. It really does need attention though. It’s properly dangerous. I could far more easily use my actual phone to perform t...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

I am not convinced this is just the Ohme charger to blame, but from what I have read in this Forum it might be good to make sure the charger has been set up to deliver maximum charge. However, maybe the settings on your VW are over-riding the ones on the charger? In my experience, the car setting (...

Re: Don’t buy an Ohme Charger

I need not have worried it might actually work. It only added 27% last night and was stuck at 4 kWh. I did wake up at one point and noticed but didn’t intervene so I had a nice unsuccessful charge for them to see. My behaves the same as @sidehaas does if it needs to add a lot of charge like last nig...
