Re: Efficiency

The data is definitely massively off now. Normally I've seen somewhere between 2 and 10% difference between VW readings and actuals. However I think the software update has done something very odd. Yesterday I did 85 miles and used 44% battery, which is about 3.3 miles per kwh. The car was claiming...

Re: Wireless Android Auto after 3.2 update

I've never had an issue in two and a half years to be honest with wireless or by cable, both work but prefer cable due to the charging plate being unreliable.

Re: Tyre noise

Michelin e primacy were significantly quieter than the Bridgestones fitted (not to mention way more durable).

Re: Efficiency

I did some further running today, it does seem slightly better. I didn't drive particularly well on 38 mile run, just drove normally on twisty A roads. Car said 4.2, actually worked it out to more like 4.0. Which to be honest isn't bad for that journey, I normally have to drive a little more efficie...

Re: Solid state batteries in 2024?

Highly unlikely to be in production that early. For mass production we're probably looking more like 2030.

Re: Efficiency

That’s the combined KW per mile at 4.7, I have seen 4.8 it is driving in a relaxed and measured manner. Using B mode and adaptive cruise, I do on occasion use the accelerator to knock up to 65 to complete a lorry if required. My daily commute can see as much as a 5kw per mile due to slower duel car...

Re: Efficiency

I thought the id3 max had the larger 77 kwh battery? The figures you're showing (91% to do 250 miles) seem to be in line with the 58 kwh battery. That's bloody good going because when I drive to London i get nowhere near that efficiency. It is the Tour that had the 77kWh battery. Ah, that was it. E...

Re: Efficiency

I've just tried my out (updated yesterday) figures are a load of crap. Was reading 4.0 miles per kwh. I was going up the motorway at 70mph. I used 9% of battery to do 18 miles, which I calculated to be around 3.38 miles per kwh, so something is out.

Re: Efficiency

Recently have been doing day trips to London and back, 111 miles ish each way. I’ve been sitting at 60mph, use of air conditioning when required, using the eco setting in a ID3 max. See attached picture from todays trip, I know with a pre condition and tyre pressures, a little warmer first thing. T...

Should be 2-3 Days. Mine went in Monday morning and apparently all done, picking it up end of today as all done.

Replacement Charging Cables

I need to replace my ID3 Type 2 to Type 2 cable. I was supposed to have it covered under warranty, but apparently some scratches on a cable that I've had for 2.5 years means that it's damaged beyond repair in VW's eyes. But I have to twist it around a few times to get it to charge. Has anyone bought...

Re: Timed charging 3.2

I didn't know it was an issue until now, had this with my pod point charger a couple of times.

How have you got 3.2? I got upgraded to 2.4 back in March but I hadn't heard anything about 3.2

Re: Batterygate! ?

So I checked this morning, 30% battery added (17.4 kwh in theory) and 16.7 kwh supplied to the car from my home 7kwh charger. So a loss of around 5%. If the number of KWH supplied by your charger was indeed 16.7, and actually increased the charge level by 30% then your usable battery capacity is < ...

I'm confused. What software should we be on? I'm still on 2.4 after the battery change and not seen an update since.

Re: Batterygate! ?

Following this thread, I just found there is another factor as well for AC charging I have a SyncEV charge point and until I switched to Intelligent Octopus I was going by the kWh it reported. However, now I am on IO, IO reports roughly 5% less usage (from the smart meter) than the SyncEV does thro...

Re: Batterygate! ?

Finding this post and then looking at my post from yesterday now makes more sense. That being said, it's not very helpful is it? If I'm doing a journey I want to know what miles per kwh I need to do in order to achieve how far I need to go. Now I know I need to pretty much account for a 10% loss in ...

Re: Difference in consumption and battery level

Okay, so it's been a while since I posted on here (6 months since the above where I mentioned the difference I'm getting vs the advertised) and I've got a bit of an update on this. I've recorded it a few times recently, and I've probably only done around 6,000 miles since writing that (I've now owne...

Re: Battery Range

Here's how I do it now I've coveted 26,000 miles over two years. If I drive sensibly on a motorway (I.e. sit at 60 with the lorries) in winter I can get about 3.1-3.2 miles per kwh on average. You can also help yourself by pre heating cabin etc. However I rarely charge my car to 100% as I don't need...
