Re: Adaptive Cruise Control
It's the same as on most VWs Post 2014. It's on thr steering wheel. I/o either activates or deactivates. But it will only make it ready. Press set to turn it on. Up and down buttons to adjust speed. It should recognise the speed limit as soon as you enter a new speed limit area. Middle button select...

Re: just thinking about getting an id.3
1. You have to think between 20 and 80% of battery. You hardly ever charge it to 80% to protect the life of the battery. In winter this means that from 8p% charge you'll be looking at 150 miles range, 190 ish in the summer motorways this will reduce. Also you don't want to go too flat under 20% unle...

Re: First test drive
Anyway, the whole point of this thread was to help someone who was considering buying one. And yet even though I asked multiple times where their journeys were going to be from/to they won't tell me, so I can't tell them.if there are any rapid chargers on the route. If you fancy telling me at some p...

Re: Tyres
Michelin Primacy 4. I haven't put them on the ID 3 but when the time comes I will. Had them on my tiguan at the front after the Hankooks had worn out. Same volume but felt like a different car. Also had them on my Polo GTI before that, great tyres. Good year also I can agree with.

Re: tyres
If there is still over 2mm left leave them. Give it a couple of months while it's still summer. Get some Michelin Primacy 4 on the rears. Much better tyre.

Re: First test drive
D is definitely more efficient than B. Not wasting energy to require regen recovery is more efficient than recovering 80% of it the energy you just wasted. In my personal experience around the doors, I'd estimate there's about 10% in it. Sat on the motorway maintaining 70mph, there'll be nothing in...

Unexpected on a UK website - curb away, curb away…
Anyway I will be careful to curb my curb use in future.

Re: First test drive
WE haven't bought an ID3 yet. I know that, you said you test drove one. I asked where are your relatives in the world, closest town and where do you travel from? How often do you do that journey a year? What's your daily journey lengths like? I've covered a lot of miles now in an ID3 and charged ou...

There seems to be random errors when it's hot outside, I've had quite a few now in the last month or so.

How far is it to your relations out of interest from your place, and roughly where in the world are they? We can help you with this info. You were probably driving in D mode. Put it in B mode and some of the braking comes from the regen, in D mode it still surprises me how far the travel is. In B m...

Re: Other EVs?
I test drove an i3. Decent car, just the range wasn't enough, far too expensive, too small and when you have a 4 year old those rear doors are rubbish and make it virtually impossible to get them out in a parking space. I considered a Tesla Model 3, as I'm on a company car it wouldn't have been too ...

I've done nearly 5,000 and driven mine like an absolute hooligan and I'm nowhere near any markers. Over inflation won't do it that badly.

I'm confused by the question. Do you mean does the heat pump act as an air conditioner? Or are you asking if you pump heat out?

Re: Tyre Blowout
I can see from the state of the wheels you've curbed those, can guarantee you've damaged the tyre whilst doing so. I remember an old neighbour of mine used to curb his car when parking all the time, had three blowouts.

Re: Got a spooky message
How warm was it outside? I've noticed when it's 27 degrees or more outside I get all kinds of errors, got one today saying the ACC was unavailable. Went away. I've even had the red triangle saying don't drive, went away. They plugged it in, no record of an error.
