Re: Is Maintenance on a lease good value?

I did not choose the maintenance either. I felt there's a lot less to go wrong (famous last words).

Re: Pre-Purchase Help Requested

When delivered at the beginning of 2021 my ID3 was the same - Pre-conditioning using the app only worked when the car was plugged in. After having the software updated I can now reliably precondition anywhere using the app (as long as there is mobile coverage!). I would check the version of your car...

Re: Thud sound at low speed ?

I’ve noticed a quiet thud occasionally but it’s the heater kicking in. But I think it comes from the front of the car. Not noticed any other sounds related to ACC.

Could this explain it?

If only that were true in the UK where our electricity generation mix is 40% from burning fossil fuels, mainly gas. Glad it’s very slowly improving with all the renewable investment.

Re: WeConnect app

Has anyone successfully used the We Connect app to precondition the ID3? My We Connect account is set-up fine and the app reliably connects - it shows range and charge status correctly. But the heating/cooling has never worked - three different errors are shown on iPhone depending on... sun spot act...

Re: What a nice car!

Great post. I concur with your VW dealership salesperson observation; many seem to be absolutely clueless about the product. I suspect VW sacrificed the staff training and preparation, as with the software readiness, in order to just get product out there come hell or high water. >>plenty of rapid c...

Re: OUR Real World Range

>>All in D Just curious - assuming you're aiming for best economy / range, why are you driving in D instead of B? I use B by default - Straw poll: I'm wondering what other owners prefer, D or B? The regen braking seems to offer moderate range boost - unless on continuous motorway style roads with ve...

Re: ME2.0 update cancelled

The availability of these software updates seems very spotty. Surprisingly my local dealer routinely updated my ID3 to 0784 yesterday without a murmur. I say routinely, it was primarily an attempt to solve the alarm going off randomly in the night. So far so good. -The on-screen home key is now on t...

Re: Car alarm went off at 5am

Many thanks for the tips. My ID.3 is currently taking its first holiday to the local VW workshop to sort out the alarm issue (and an update from 0564 to 0783, if they can figure it out..)

Car alarm went off at 5am

Oh joy. The new ID3 decided to wake everyone up this morning at 5:05. It was locked normally and plugged in at the time. Absolutely nobody around (the house motion lights were all off. Rural location). Slightly breezy, wet weather. Is this going to be a regular occurrence I wonder ... has anyone els...

Re: What are your experiences of insuring your ID.3?

Took LV's car insurance for ID3 Life at £235 for wife and I (with a Quidco Compare Car Insurance £28 cashback - cos I am tight :-|

If you can make sure you buy your insurance at least 8 days in advance, otherwise insurers stick you for another £30-£50 as they know you must be in a hurry!

Re: Incorrect Speed Exceeded notifications

Cheers all. Have disabled the feature for now. Interesting that my VW dealer told me last week there are "definitely no s/w updates due" for my v0564 ID.3 Life... That can't be right can it?!?

Incorrect Speed Exceeded notifications

I don’t think my ID3 can count. While driving below the speed limit it displays the message every few minutes “speed exceeded”. Like when I’m consistently doing 22mph in a 30 (due to mud, walkers, dogs, joggers, with no pavement- before you ask!). Why is this??

We Connect ID app - multiple devices?

Am I right in thinking only one device with the We Connect app can be associated with the ID3 at any one time? I tried setting-up the We Connect ID app on both mine and my wife's iPhone but by setting-up one app it seems to remove the other, with a message in the app saying "Change of Primary U...

Re: Dynamic electricity pricing compatible chargers

Great thanks - two options then so far - both from Ohme. Wonder if there are any others? I am curious as I am currently shopping around for an EV charger, and with the increasing prevalence of renewables, especially wind and solar, it seems to me dynamic pricing is going to become the norm particula...

Dynamic electricity pricing compatible chargers

Apologies if this has been asked before but I could not find the answer - Am I right in thinking only the Ohme wall box is smart enough to control EV charging based on dynamic electricity pricing, like Octopus's Agile tariff? (aka dynamic Time-of-Use (TOU) electricity tariffs)

Many thanks.
