Re: Warmer weather efficiancy
Tailgating a 58mph truck ("hypermiling"), its certainly possible to do 250 miles, 350 miles is pure fantasy though in a 58kWh ID3 (6 miles per kWh). Sounds like a challenge when the weather warms up. I was around 300 miles range on the trip to Telford and that included a cold run of aroun...

3 weeks sat at Emden seems to be about right for now, so hopefully shipment is imminent for us both.

Re: Boat Watching
I did have another thought about this. How many cars are dropped off each time the boat comes in. Eg the 2nd last boat to the Tyne came from Emden and went straight back there? I made the assumption the boat was full. So, how many vehicle transporters do they have for each port? And how many cars d...

Re: Boat Watching
Yep, I've been watching for weeks now for my BW7. Expecting it to come into Tyne. I can see the ships come into Tyne from my house. They usually drop cars off then load up with Sunderland built Nissans to take to Finland or Netherlands, depending on which way they're going, and then back to Emden to...

Re: Boat Watching
Its surprising how addictive it is. Using https://www.myshiptracking.com/ and https://www.marinetraffic.com/ I found that VWs carriers tend to end in "Highway", with the exeption of the Autoprestige. i have watched a few come and go from Emden, I thought mine may have been on board the Au...

Re: Warmer weather efficiancy
You don't get 4.9 miles per kWh sat at 70mph, not even at temps as high as 28C, looks like a 60mph run for the given 14C to me.
4.0 miles per kWh in the height of Summer at a constant 70mph and a smidge of Aircon under recirculation is as good as it gets for motorway driving.

Re: Buying a used iD.3
the First edition had self Sealing tyres as standard and no puncture repair kit That's because it came on 19" wheels. 18" wheels, whether steelys or East Derry never come on self sealing tyres. Yes I Know that , the point is he's bought a First Edition Not sure he knew why it wouldn't hav...

ID3 has sleepy keys. After a very short while of being still in a drawer etc, they cannot be read. You really shouldn't need one of these.

Re: Auto stop in reverse?
Sadly, this afternoon I managed to reverse into a parked car with my ID.3 Family Pro Performance '23 plate - had it less than a month. The car just let it happen with no warning or attempt to prevent or lessen the impact. The rear nearside bumper made contact. Should I have expected more from the c...

If you're a heavy non-EV user, you might be better off on the tracker - Gas is sitting around 5p a unit (and hasn't been above 6.5p for a few months. Electricity is bouncing between 17p and 22p a unit.

Re: Car shooting forward
In the interests of science this afternoon I parked my car facing downhill on the steepest hill in Norwich. With autohold applied I drove off. The car obviously accelerated faster that’s it would on the level the level but it certainly did not shoot forward and was not in anyway out of control and ...

Rubber mats and load liner for sale
Hi everyone. These have been in my ID3 for a year, then my Born for 10 months. Born is going on Monday, so I've no further use for these:- Full set of original VW ID3 rubber floor mats and the official VW ID3 rigid load liner for the Life or other ID3 WITHOUT the flexible height boot floor fitted. T...

Re: VW Finance (PCP)
We’ve done this a few times now with no issues, first time we did this was the sales guy who told us. We did our own research and read the contract through first but it was a massive saving and included the service plan. In a buyers market, the dealership will not mind you doing this if it means ge...

Re: VW Finance (PCP)
I've never done it but I thought you had to cancel the finance within the two week cooling off period? Within 14 days you can "withdraw" from the agreement. A Or at any time you can "settle". It's possible VWFS will ask for a fee to settle early, unlike withdrawing, and why the ...

Re: Driven delivery 192 miles?
I thought driven delivery was a no-no these days, in case the customer invokes their distance selling rights and returns the car within 14 days? I've certainly been given that excuse. I would always advise to pick it up. If there's something wrong when it's handed over, always easier to handle it at...

Re: Tyre wear
That 3.5mm could be 5.1mm if there's 3.5mm to the markers, with 3.5mm of legal wear actually left. I make a point to never buy tyres from the dealership, and make sure they know it when the car goes in for anything. I'm sure they have a box of nails and screws in the workshop to insert. However, EV t...

Re: What is "VE: special goodwill 2023 I"??
That could explain why there is no mention of VE special goodwill 2023 in my 22.5 model and why I have had to fight tooth and nail to drag a tyre repair kit out of VW's claws!!! Still fighting them (my lease company) for self sealing tyres or a refund 😂😂 I had a lengthy and mostly useless conversat...
