Re: Do East Derry have locking wheel nut?

My car was built with 18" steel wheels, but I bought alloys through the dealership, and they fitted them. No locking wheel nuts. I think you were done! But are you sure, have you looked? He's not been done. If the car had been built with the alloys, it'd have had locking wheel nuts fitted. I l...

Re: Do East Derry have locking wheel nut?

All alloy wheel choices have a locking wheel nut, the steel wheels don't.

Would've improved the situation slightly, by offering another 40-45 realistic miles range in the Winter.

Cupra Born V2 E-Boost for sale £32400

HI everyone, This might appeal to those sick of waiting for a new ID3 and willing to jump into a Cupra Born instead. A change in frequency of travel for work is going to mean me doing a fair few motorway miles beyond the range of the car, and given both the cost of motorway filling and the inconveni...

Re: OBDeleven - What do I need?

Not being a spoiler, but I wonder if you had an accident that Lane Assist should have avoided, can the insurance company check if it’s disabled and would this class as modifying your vehicle and invalidate the insurance? Just with the ability to make charges to other cars with tools like this, I gu...

Yep, slow AC charging at destination charging and rapid chargers en-route e.g. motorways is what's generally needed.

Re: OBDeleven - What do I need?

Of all you want yo do is have Lane assist remember you turned it off and not come back every ignition cycle, I'd recommend you find someone here local to you who has one and ask if they'll code for you. It'll take 10 mins. Otherwise you'll need to buy the dongle and either some credits or the pro li...

Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

Surely that EU consumer law that allowed non-franchised dealerships to perform services using original parts without any warranty implications should cover this to allow ther garages reasonable access to reset service lights etc. We still abide by most of these EU laws despite Brexit. That charge to...

JohnEG wrote: Thu Feb 23, 2023 10:08 am How about a jack and wheel brace!!
Decent Jack's can be had for about £16 on Ebay or about £127 through the dealership. Similarly, get a telescopic wheel brace with a nice smooth socket to attach, as opposed to the scratchy rough cast aluminium ones VW supply with other cars.

Re: Price for wheel alignment

I need to get my wheels/steering re-aligned and given it's got Lane Assist, the price the I've just been quoted is eye watering so I thought I'd check to see if others have faced similar issues. Been quoted £150 for the wheel alignment and then £300 for the lane assist calibration(!) - so £450 in t...

Re: Price for wheel alignment

Lane assist????? Would have thought that to be self calibrating as its a visual feedback from a camera....I think. If the car is pulling you to the Left, towards parked cars, I'd say Lane Assist is working as intended. Turn Lane Assist off and make sure it's not that intervening? Other than t...

Re: Price for wheel alignment

Just check your tyre pressures before committing - you might be a bit low on one side (unlikely, but possible), wouldn't explain the steering wheel alignment, unless it's always been set 1 spline out from centre.

The software isn’t great, interior feels cheap and the build doesn’t seem up to vw’s standard. We had a new Peugeot at work the other week which seemed better in many ways. Hopefully when they bring the facelift out it will be better? What specifically about the build isn't up to scratch? Our 2 wer...

Replacement key

Has anyone lost a key and needed a replacement? Just lost my Cupra Born key and thought there's likely more lost ID3 keys than Cupra keys, just because the car has been around longer. Took kids to school today in car, we get there, park up and when I go to blip the car to walk into the playground, a...

Not so long ago, a "£36k" RRP ID3 Family Pro performance could fetch £44k on the used market, now it's £33k - that's not a plummeting value, that's a correction to an extraordinary event. Tesla's used prices have tumbled due to the £9k price drop bombshell, but in reality, that's just a re...

Buy a large (500ml) can of holts tyre weld and a pump. Even the 19" tyres with self sealing can't be relied upon to stay blown up with a screw near the edge of the tread.

Re: Selling ID3 through Motorway, anyone?

If VW dealers are selling used for £35k, they won't want to pay you more than £30k for it, more like £29k - they expect a 20% margin on used cars.
