Re: What did you get with your car?
I got the ID box (socks etc as above) with my 1st - the dealer also gave me a VW branded pen and brolly. I would have liked a brolly. I used to keep an umbrella in the special door compartment on my old Passat, but when I scrapped it, I forgot to remove the brolly. I've now bought another one to ke...

Re: What did you get with your car?
Mine was a 1st Edition, so I guess so. Sorry you didn't get anything, even such an off-the-wall collection as I got!OllyExeterID3 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 12:59 pm Hi,
Unfortunately I didn't get anything with mine It wasn't a 1st Edition but I was expecting a little something. I assume the goodies/freebies only came with 1st Editions?

What did you get with your car?
I haven't noticed any mention of freebies on these forums, but I'm assuming that others received a goody-box like I did? On handover I was given a nice white cardboard box like a chocolate box. Inside was my We Charge card, and also some surprising random gifts including these socks: PXL_20210111_09...

Re: v2.0 - still room for improvement
I've got version 2.0 but can't see apple carplay or android auto. Still had some issues as well. I couldn’t find it at first. The main menu screen has got a second page of icons. If you scroll down (swipe up), this is where I found the App-Connect icon through which I setup CarPlay. The icons can b...

Re: Wheels
You need to be very careful with alternative wheels. Not only do you have the obvious diameter, width and profile that you regularly see quoted which relate to the tyres but the wheels also have diameter, PCD and number of bolts, the centre hole diameter, width and very importantly the offset. If y...

Re: Driving style
I did a short journey today and reflected on how my driving style has changed since switching to EV and my ID.3. I find I drive generally more slowly, steadily, more relaxed. I revel in pulling away smoothly using the amazing EV always-available torque. In an ICE vehicle with a manual gearbox, I was...

Re: Wheels
The ID.3 has large wheels and narrow tyres, resulting in low rolling resistance. Large wheels/tyres designed for conventional cars are likely to be low profile and fat, so unsuitable for the ID.3. There are aftermarket wheels from VW Parts, specifically designed for the ID.3. For instance these: htt...

Re: What are your best bits?
To start the ball rolling, I absolutely love the lights. I like the Matrix LED headlights and their clever automatic full beam. I like the 'welcome' light that greets you as you walk up to the car at night-time. I like the rear brake lights that are in the shape of an X. I particularly like the conc...

What are your best bits?
These boards are full of complaints, and cries for help, about problems with our new ID.3 cars. Which is fine, there are a lot of problems with the car and here is a great place to discuss them, and get help from the friendly denizens here. I think if we had all bought Tesla cars, for instance, we w...

Re: Non VW branded 3pin charging
I regularly use a 10m granny lead bought from Screwfix for £160. I've not had any problems charging (unless I stop charging and try to start again). The amount of home charging I am likely to do made me baulk at £500 for a 7kW charger... So you're the one who bought it! I found it listed as 'in sto...

Re: We Connect ID app frozen and Zappi not charging
Sorry to hear you're having these problems. My app is fine now, but initially it wasn't working. I had to reset the car to factory defaults and re-install the app and that sorted it out. My Zappi 2 works fine with the car.

Re: Non VW branded 3pin charging
I bought a 3-pin chargecable from Argos, Masterplug branded, with a 10M lead, a bit cheaper than the VW 6M version. I've used it once so far but had no problems with it. It has a small LCD display which is quite informative about charge rate and energy.

Re: ID.3 Business Pro Feels A Bit Like Beta Testing Software
I'm not sure, haven't yet experimented thoroughly, but I think the interior lights function only when the car is 'on'. It's not immediately obvious when the car is 'on' - when you get into the car the screens burst into life but the car isn't fully 'on' until you depress the brake pedal, put it into...

Re: ID.3 Business Pro Feels A Bit Like Beta Testing Software
The ACC cruise control problem you've experienced is likely going to be resolved by the software update. I have been amused to experience the car accelerating sharply after a 50MPH motorway section in which I had set the ACC to 50MPH. When we returned to a 70MPH section the car accelerates sharply u...

Re: ID.3 Business Pro Feels A Bit Like Beta Testing Software
You're correct a 'granny' cable (3-pin 13A plug charging cable) is not supplied with the car. It is available from VW dealers, or you can buy a third party item There's a good one branded Masterplug, available in a version with an extra long cable which I found useful. It's sold by Screwfix (but the...
