Re: ME2.0 update cancelled
Ours was updated this week, so far it does seem better with less errors and glitchy antics. Overspeed warning is still happening the dealers escalated to VW. One thing I noticed this morning I got a snowflake on the dash for low temperature I thought it was strange the car wasn't doing it before as ...

Re: ID3 Home Charging
I found exactly the same thing, car started charging as requested under “locations” but only added a tiny amount of range. I also tried setting a departure time to see if that would force the car to up its charging rate, but it didn’t make any difference. I have installed a relay in line with the p...

Re: ID3 Home Charging
Had the 2.0 installed this week tried timed charging last night it didn’t work. I seemed to have got 10% charge in 5 hours. Reading the thread think I’ll turn location off and go back to the timer method I installed on my charge point and wait for 2.1 :-/

Re: Cracked Windscreen
My insurers referred me to auto glass, they are trying to find out when they can get hold of a screen. They said it needs to go into one of their workshop as they cant do it on the drive. Luckily the ID3 is our little runabout so no big if its out of action for a while.

Cracked Windscreen
well at least todays issue isn't a software bug. Set off this afternoon and noticed a 20cm crack in the screen  no idea how it happened I would have noticed it yesterday its right in-front of the driver. Logged it on my insurance accounts website waiting for someone to contact me on how to pro...

Re: Totally dead
thanks, took matters into my own hands after the dealer advised me not to condition the battery myself. I didn't want too boost or charge it incase the Battery Management System threw a hissy fit giving the dealer cause to blame me. Not wanting to get stranded either I put weight on the drivers seat...

Frozen Bonnet
Hit an interesting design glitch this morning, it was -3 and wanted to check the 12v battery voltage. Pulled the bonnet lever and the bonnet didn't lift it stayed totally flush. On inspection with the design of the bonnet frozen water had formed in-between the bonnet gap all the way around and had f...

Re: Totally dead
Two weeks before I am booked to get the software update it seems we are now getting issues. App warned me the battery was low this morning I tried the car and got a few errors presumably related. I just called my dealers service desk to see if its ok to put the 12v battery on a battery charger/condi...

Re: To Charge to 80%... or to 100%?
Our previous BMW I3s used to warn you if the charge was low not to leave them in a low state of charge for Prolonged periods. Being into radio controlled cars I always assumed it was similar to the LiPo scenario in that storing at a low state of charge is not healthy for the battery.

Re: opening passenger door
there's an option somewhere in the options for global unlocking I had to turn it on for ours. its not obvious but find the screen with the picture of the car and spin it to move through vehicle settings for exterior and interior.

Re: Rear lights
we solved a weird problem today, random incidents of lights coming on on the car. We keep car keys in a bowl near a door, if the ID3 Is parked in either of the two parking spaces closer to the door every time someone opens the house door the welcome lights come on and you get the "dad the cars ...

Re: ID3 Home Charging
we have off peak electric which we used on the the BMW i3. just had to modify my 7kw EVSE by adding a £12 timer from amazon, tried it last night worked a treat. ID3 blinks red for a minute when you insert the plug with no Control Pilot but then happily goes to sleep and wakes up when the EVSE fires ...

Re: Has anyone received the Major Update ?
ours went into Mansfield vw yesterday to look at the errors and update it. They confirmed the TSBs for the errors and that it needs an update however couldn't do it as they don't have the special equipment for the ID3. They tried to borrow it from another dealer but apparently it's in short supply. ...

We got a red version of that symbol yesterday in heavy snow. Guessed it was front collision avoidance saying it’s not happy due to sensors or visibility. It cleared itself when it stopped snowing.

UK tyres fitted on delivery
Guys What tyres did you get with your UK 1st edition? I had read they come with continentals with self repairing technology hence no spare or repair kit. Just checked mine to order winter tyres and noticed it has Bridgestone ECO tyres which I don’t think have self repair. With no spare or repair kit...

Re: What’s Up with the charging speeds ?
Having had BMW I3's since their launch I gave up years ago trying to scientifically work out the parameters required to achieve a BEVs max charging rate it gave me a headache. I became obsessed and slightly irritated by it as it became clear Environment, vehicle status, charger status and load balan...
