Re: UK First Edition £500 charging credit
The card is accepted by Osprey, and maybe Alfa (mainly Yorkshire) and ESB (London, Coventry) - but I haven’t tried them myself.

They sent me the standard “vehicle health check” report - it’s good to see that the cambelt change is not due

Re: Software update (bug fixes)
I have my car back, the software has been updated from v0564 to v0570 (display is still on 3074, nav was 20.7, now 20.9, codec 3.1.4, radio 1.30.19)

Re: Stuck in Offline Mode
You could try rebooting the infotainment system: touch and hold the on/off button below the screen, keep your finger there for around 15 seconds.

Re: Software update (bug fixes)
Since the airbag warning first appeared last week, it always reappeared when starting the car. My dealer is Vindis group, Cambridge branch. https://vindisgroup.com/dealers/vindis-cambridge-service-centre They did not complete the update on Friday, and they still have the car over the weekend - they ...

Software update (bug fixes)
I have had the airbag warning light on since Saturday, so I booked my car in for investigation - due in tomorrow. Since then VW have stated on the First Movers Facebook page that there is an initial software patch available this week to fix several bugs, including this one. I have just called my dea...

Re: Sat nav and speed
Yes, I agree it seems to be a km/miles conversion bug in the speed warning - but the cruise control is not affected

Osprey chargers
I noticed some Osprey chargers (formerly known as Engenie) appearing in the WeConnectID map when filtering for WeCharge, so I emailed them to check - they replied confirming that they do accept the WeCharge card. There’s a fair number of them around the country, often in Marston’s pub car parks - bu...

Re: Charging ID3
A 13A charging cable should give 3kW, which will add about 5% per hour. If you charge for 7 hours overnight that should refill just over 1/3 of battery capacity, say from 45% to 80%, good for 60-70 miles.

Re: Charging ID3
I don’t think that makes any difference. The main recommendations are to only charge above 80% if you’re about to go on a long journey, and don’t do all your charging at rapid DC chargers.

You can reset it by holding your finger on the on/off touch sensor below the screen, hold it there for about 10-15 seconds

£90 credit to energy bill with Octopus
Volkswagen Electric Vehicle customers who switch a dual fuel home energy supply or have an existing dual fuel supply with Octopus Energy will be eligible for a £90 credit to their energy bill - see https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/electric/partnerships/octopus-energy I also have an affiliate link, for a...

Re: We Change
I have one, but I haven’t used it yet. There aren’t many Ionity chargers in the UK, and several of them are currently free to anyone, no need to use a card at all - but these are typically throttled to around 35kw max. (I have used the chargers at Baldock and Boxworth near Cambridge, and I understan...

Re: Software Update 3rd Oct
The main route to report bugs to VW is via the “Volkswagen ID. first movers club” private Facebook group: not the ideal scheme for bug reports.

Nav system failed
The navigation system failed for me today - it stayed showing the position at my home, after I started to drive away. (My old TomTom had an on-screen GPS signal strength indicator, but I don't see anything like that on the ID3's nav screen) It has been working OK over the last 2 weeks (Edit: after r...

Re: UK insurance policies
I phoned up VW insurance, they gave me a quote that was much better than Direct Line (even though they use the same underwriters!)
