Re: Battery Management
Once a month or so it is advisable to charge it to 100% to condition the Battery Management System. But do this just before a trip that will take the charge down to under 80% so that it doesn’t sit for long at the higher charge.

Re: Setting ID3 for reduced charge power
You shouldn’t need to set the ID.3 to a lower charge current. The type 2 connector and your 3.5kW wall box will communicate with the car to indicate the maximum charge current available. So if the wall box is working correctly, according to the J1772 specification, your car will charge at 3.5kW with...

Re: How is CarPlay working for you?
I got CarPlay working again correctly by resetting everything – making the iPhone forget the car's wifi, making the car forget the iPhone's hotspot and deleting the iPhone from the car's list of CarPlay devices. I then set-up CarPlay again from scratch. What I've learnt however is that CarPlay only ...

Thankfully, no. Did the car beep when it selected reverse and did the rear camera show on the infotainment screen?

Re: Car Mats
As I live in the country, we used a spare set of rubber mats from our old Scirocco as an emergency measure. They don't fit exactly but they'll do until I can find a reasonably priced alternative. I resent paying a lot of money for something that's going to be covered with mud from September to Apri...

Re: How is CarPlay working for you?
The only thing I’ve done with CarPlay is play music....and always wirelessly as I’ve never plugged in to the car....and I have no music downloaded to my phone - all streamed via Apple Music. I’ve had no issues and I’ve not changed any setting with regard to the CarPlay setup/connection since the da...

Re: How is CarPlay working for you?
Thanks scott28tt. Do you know what networking is being used? Is it hardwired (lightning-to-USB-C), vehicle wifi, iPhone wifi (Personal Hotspot) or Bluetooth?
Cheers.

I got mine on a special deal with a few other accessories from my dealer. As I say, expensive but they fit well.

How is CarPlay working for you?
When I plug my iPhone into a USB-C connector using an adaptor cable, CarPlay works just fine. If my iPhone is not plugged in and it connects to the car's wifi then playing music in CarPlay works as long as the track is already downloaded to the phone. If the phone tries to stream then it is obviousl...

Re: Frozen Infotainment Screen
My infotainment system doesn't freeze but it has rebooted a couple of times. I can be driving along and it just goes black. After 30 seconds or so it restarts and I get the Welcome to VW screen. Annoying but not too much of a problem.

Re: Regenerative Breaking
I think that the way you drive is the most significant factor in energy efficiency. The car whose driver has a heavy right foot (hard acceleration, hard braking) is going to have much greater energy usage than the light-footed driver who accelerates slowly, is thinking ahead all the time, lets the v...

Great find. Thanks scott28tt.
I see that ACC means acceleration rather than adaptive cruise control.

Re: Incorrect Speed Exceeded notifications
Does anyone know if the other mph/kph confusion issue is still there in 0783? The one where using the ACC when leaving a 30mph zone into a 40mph zone, the car slows down to 25mph (40kph). It was intermittent when my car was on 0563 and I haven't driven it enough since the upgrade to know whether thi...

Re: I'm a bit worried about the range
If you look at the blue and green lines on the driver display, you will see when you first get in, they are a lot shorter than when the batteries are warm. you can tell when the batteries are warm enough when these two lines are back to full length. The car is restricting acceleration hence blue li...

Re: refund to Ist edition owners of £500
The only one anywhere close to me is on a stretch of the M25 I might use once every 4-5 years, but I'm using a local Osprey point and have already burned through more the £100 of my credit - where are you located? North-west Herefordshire. Worcester is my nearest Osprey, 41 miles away. Is that Meer...

IONITY Engie (was Chargepoint) New Motion Osprey (was Engenie) Elmtronics Ltd ESB Group Alfa Power Many thanks for the list. I've created a Zap-Map filter containing just these networks. The tiny green dots in the We Connect ID app are just too indistinct and makes its map unusable. Now my nearest ...

Re: refund to Ist edition owners of £500
I bought my 1st Edition in October and raised numerous issues with VW UK. It wasn't a formal complaint but I did list about a dozen faults, stated that I felt it was beta software, said that my nearest Ionity charger is 128 miles away so I probably won't be using the £500 of 'free' charging, and sai...
